Really a wonderful piece, I love the smooth curves of the sails. You don't seem to be all that much into handplanes, but planing the back of this piece might be worthwhile. My back hurts so much watching you saw, esp when the whaleback saw comes out 😬Enjoy it while you're young, I guess! That bark remover looks great, I have not seen one of that design.

Dude.... you have vision. That was incredible to witness. Priceless. Belongs on a walnut mantle over a beautiful fireplace. Then 100 years in the future some numbskull offers 25 bucks at a garage sale for it commenting, "How hard could it be?"

Right?! People so under appreciate handmade work nowadays! I constantly see people questioning or talking shit to an artist/craftsman about their prices and it pisses me off! These people put hours and sometimes days (weeks, sometimes months even) into their crafts!

Yeah, I liked the background on too. He said it was a gift, so I guess if it was for an older person, it would have been very hard to move around if necessary. Hell, when he had the background on, it looked like it was hard for him to lift up! 😂😊

Hi Chris,I just want to help you with the big stuff...I always use PVC pipes 2-3 feet long 2-3 inch diameter to move heavy things anywhere flat or inclined .I can even turn corners.Just put pipe in the direction you want to go.I have moved items 500 lbs no problem.Not sure how much weight Over to that I can do. Hope it helps you save your back from injury. Great shows Chris

Great question - actually what you are watching are hand carved stone tablets moving past you very quickly 😄. The wording is referring to my use of no electrical power tools.

@@ChopWithChris I understand. I have watched your videos for about 2 to 3 hours continuously today. But without electricity, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I started woodworking 33 years ago working with chisels and hand planes sitting on the hard cement floor in my garage. But as soon as I had $1000 to spare, I went and bought a bandsaw. Now I can not imagine myself going back to the days of hand tools. I do agree hand tools do a lot of things more efficiently with less sawdust than power tools.

In my case I only started woodworking as a hobby when I was on my 40’s using some old chisels that belonged to my dad. I guess I just can’t give it up. Take care.

Excellent carving and a lot of work! Where possible, work with a chainsaw, take care of your joints. There is one mistake, you have inflated sails in one direction, and the flag in the other. Dissonance!
