WOW! When I first watched your video, I had my doubts. I had already removed the screws as seen in another video but couldn't see how to unplug the wires. I went back to KZfaq and saw your video. I put the screws back in and got my hairdryer. now we have ice again. Thank you!

Hooray, I had used the hairdryer to melt a lot of the ice but there was still some in there and when the water came in I knew it would overfill the trays and i'd have the same issues. I had no idea there was a reset button. I pushed it and it finally dumped out the water and the little cubes that were left. I am confident that it will start working properly - at least until it freezes up again. Thank you.

I had no idea there was a reset button, until I watched your video. I had gotten the tip of the hair dryer from another video.... But it didn't solve the problem. When I hit the reset, it finally rotated and I could hear the water fill the tray. Now just waiting to see what happens. Hope it works!!

When I tripped the reset button, my ice tray did rotate and then it sounded like the ice maker filled with water. I will wait and see if this fixed the problem. Thanks for posting this very watchable and helpful video!!

My ice maker really did start making ice again. This one worked for me. I was ready to call out a repair person. This really is the place to start. My refrigerator is a Kenmore that was made by LG!

Thank you - was not aware of the test button . Had tried the hairdryer but turning off/on only results in a small amount of movement . I had a new compressor installed , unit sat Empty for a week ( perfect time to pull apart and clean ) .would not dump ice . Just waiting on it to freeze and hopefully dump . Don’t forget to prop Fridge and freezer doors open when not in use Just an inch is fine otherwise they stink.

Open one of your fridge doors , locate the door switch , press and lights will go out . Wait about 5 seconds and check if the fan at the back is blowing cold air . If not - could just be the fan . Lots of KZfaq vids on that . Good Luck

My LG does not have the ice maker in an easy-to-reach location. I used the hair dryer the best I could and large pieces of ice released. I hope this works. We'll see in a few hours. Thank you.

This was very useful because now I know I need to use the hairdryer to loosen my temp adjuster lever! Darn freezer has been over freezing my food! lol

We bought an LG LRMDC2306S six weeks ago and have had three service visits so far. Our issue is the craft ice maker that does the spherical balls doesn't work. The root cause for us is that the inlet water pipe running benind the back panel to the craft maker keeps freezing up. Our freezer has been set at +4F but the line still freezes without fail. We've had 6 cubes in 6 weeks. Luckily we're under warranty for 2 years but it looks like LG will be spending lots of time sending folks to our place until they come up with a fix.

That’s terrible! I don’t even really know what to say because that is a different unit altogether… But my initial reaction would be to turn the icemaker off for a couple of days Or as long as it takes for everything to unthaw…even though you have had it serviced sometimes that seems to help if the line is freezing🤷‍♀️ and then my next question would be are you letting ice back up into the bin? I would empty it and turn it off for a few days and start again... just a suggestion… I am not a refrigerator expert LOL I just know what works when my icemaker gets frozen but I have had similar problems and that’s what I did to other units… Good luck keep us posted as to what the fix is!

This was exactly my issue but I didn’t have a reset button, or so I thought. I looked and I looked until finally I saw a square white button and I pressed it and it dumped the ice. Now let’s hope it will dump the ice automatically again from now on. It got stuck after we got a new fuse box installed, guess all the ice froze up. I have one of the new door in door French door fridges with knock knock function. For all the people that don’t see a button with test text next to it. On the left side of the ice tray look from the right side to the left from a downward angle lol and you will see a white square. This is the button that will reset the icetray 😂🙈

Hello. This gets tray to turn and ice fall. But, in my frig, I have to use test button Everytime. Will fill and make ice again, but have to always use test button to get it out.

Rocky Moldenhauer sounds like you may have a different issue I am really unsure if that is fixable or just needs to be replaced I am sorry I am not much help, but if you figure it out keep us posted as to how you fixed it, thank you!

If you have a water filter on your refrigerator, does it need to be changed? Your inlet valve could be damaged or faulty. Or your freezer could be set too low would be my guess.🤷‍♀️

Thawed w hair dryer. Pressed Test button several times. Drops ice during test mode but makes ice but does not drop ice unless I press the test button🤔

I am having same issue, i won't make ice. After pressing reset button all i get is water. For some reason the water doesn't turn into ice. Any thoughts ?

It did the same thing to me and I just had to wait like a day or two and finally it made ice…try waiting a day and then hit the reset button again I hope this helps!

Usually when this happens i just reset an off we go..this time nothing was working..i used the hair dryer technique and we are making ice again lol

We have a fridge like that. What else could the problem be if the ice maker has ice everywhere even down the side of the door? I don’t believe the temp is to cold.

Is it too warm? Is the flap closing all the way where the ice dispenses… Is warm air getting to the icemaker somehow?

The issue I’m having is that the entire area itself is constantly freezing over. Every time i want to take out the container, I’m having to chip away ice that formed around it.

I would say, make sure the container is placed properly before you close it… sometimes the wheels or blades that turn when the ice is dropping you need to make sure those are in the proper place when you place the container back into the freezer area, And or make sure the door is closing properly, it almost sounds like something is not closing all the way or something is not fitting properly therefore, it is creating ice from a possible runoff of water or something that is just not hitting in the right place if that makes any sense

Lady Amalthea I am unsure without seeing it but you possibly could have frozen water in the line or you could have a clog in your water filter

Lady Amalthea J Ram in the above comment just brought to my attention that you may want to try leveling your refrigerator 👍 Ours was leveled after this incident and we have had no problems since! Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm gonna definitely try them. It wouldn't surprise me if it is unlevel. We've had some issues before in other rooms with the floors being unlevel.

I've done everything you did and waited more than 12 hours and NO ICE THE ICE TRAY ONLY HAS THE WATER SITTING THERE AS IF NOT COLD ENOUGH TO MAKE ICE. I HAVE MY FRIDGE ON 0 35 😐.... Thank you for your video thou

Actually my fridge was making ice perfectly fine before but the refrigerator was warm so I called a friend and he said unplug it for like 6 hours because I had the fridge at 0 33. He said it might be freezing too much. I did that. plug it back on fridge is working fine Now but now no ice... Sad

I also waited 24 hours like they say that after you unplug it and plug it back on you need to wait that amount of hours it seems like no cold air is going in the ice tray

😔 I am sorry to hear that, These are definitely not the fastest icemakers in the world I know that mine takes a very long time before it will dump…Have you tried turning the icemaker off for a little while?
