My time in the royal finnish military taught one thing about camping and surviving in the winter. Have a big fire and remember to put up your tent before everything. Putting up the tent when you are starving might suck, but it sucks ten times more when it is dark and all the blood goes to your stomach area and your fingers freeze.

Pop, this was an excellent video. The contrast of the abundantly supplied city grocery store with your conservative meal choices, the cars on the autobahn as a backdrop to your 'primitive' two-wheeled pedal power, leading up to a 'Moment in Time'; a brief reflection, and the realization that so many have made before you: "What am I doing on this ridiculous trip .. ?" But then ... you already knew the answer; you crossed the Rubicon; the die was cast, forged in the heat of the campfire. In the morning you emerge from your tent .. there is a 'knowing', your destiny maybe, to lead us couch-ridden suburbanites out of the house, if even to encourage us to sit on the porch once in a while .. and from there, to dare to join you in spirit to scale our own 'Mt. Everest' .. or perhaps make a reservation at a KOA.

Even if you hunt from the refrigerator it's always nice to see a group of Deer roaming through the woodlands. Nature is just beautiful. I'm a new subscriber from Northern Ontario, Cheers.

One might think you got enough snow camping when you where in the military. Years ago a visiting Finnish relative told me the Finnish military ruined both camping and bicycling for him for the rest of his life. Granted he had just mustered out, Thank you for another interesting and educational video.

An army buddy of mine killed himself playing Russian Roulette. No one was surprised. Russian Roulette was one of his favorite games. I can't help but think that's the way he would have wanted to go.

Just got back from camping in my F2. I have taken to putting my USMC Camo Tarp ontop of my French tents roof. It seems to act as a double wall tent and I've notice alot less condensation inside the tent in the mornings.

Nice. I see, that you are going to expand the content of your channel into the realm om the "hunter/ gatherer world". I have just heard though, that when the "predator" is surrounded by such an abundance of "prey items" it can be confusing and difficult to focus on one particular "item" and that improves the survivability rate of the one, particular item, relatively speaking. You are clearly experienced in this discipline though, you managed to stay focused, and got your "catch". Not all are that lucky. We've had no snow, but lots of contrails produced rain this winter. :) Our temperatures get as low as 20's farenheight, and that's about as low as it gets. Yes, we USA barbarians stubbornly continue to resist the metrical system, except doctors and scientists. Communists! Enjoyed your outing in the snow as usual. The lining on the French Tent looked like the British Arctic tent. Does it have a double lining? Also, do you have a brand of coffee, or just what is cheap?
