I'll never forget my mom yelling at me and ripping me apart before a choir concert I had to sing in in high school. In school, I was very strong. I never cried, I never was in a bad mood. But my mother had a way of destroying me (which is why I had to be so strong). I'll never forget how I walked into the choir room that evening to warm up with the other students, SOBBING. I'll also never forget the girls who showed concern, dried my tears, and even shared their makeup with me to get me looking good for the performance. People can be so cruel. And other people can step up and show so much kindness!

Something I do...I have 3 nieces and then a ton of adopted nieces and nephews. I want to get all of them presents but Aunt Jackie can only do so much. So ...I find super inexpensive cards on amazon or wherever I can find like 20 for $10 and I send the kiddos a card. It costs me postage but it’s way way way cheaper than sending presents. And kids LOVE to get mail. ❤️

#BeKind I like watching your videos because they challenge me and make me really think about stuff. I am guilty of yelling at my kids. As you know; I’m a single mom of 2. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety. I try so hard but sometimes it feels like they are testing me and then I explode. I love those kids more than anything. More than myself. I need to find new ways to function at home because I don’t feel like it’s working as well as it should. I need to look for kindness so I can spread it.

Love this! ♥️ Last night, I was going to order another Erin Condren planner for next year. Then something in me "woke up" and I realized I don't need an expensive planner to organize my days. I could use the $60 in more meaningful ways. I decided I will use it to buy a bunch of greeting cards from Dollar Tree and a book of stamps so I can send cards to people for any and all reasons. "Thinking of you" or get well soon" or "just saying hello" cards can go a long way if you add a few sincere personal comments. Why wait until somebody can't hear your eulogy for them? A little morbid, I know, but I've seen it happen a time or two. #bekind

#BeKind I love the idea of a kindness series. One simple thing I do for my family is fill up the water pitcher we keep in the fridge every morning. That way I know they can just grab a cool drink when they want it. Also, folding laundry that they haven't put away yet...just in the hopes it takes one thing off their to do list and makes their day better.

I have a great relationship with my kids now. It was never really bad, but I know our relationships have gotten so much better since I have been minimizing my life and our home, and have myself with more routines. I don't feel as stressed, or out of control. An unexpected benefit from this Pandemic I noticed,is our family has gotten closed cuz we are all home, we have dinner at the table every day,,it makes a big difference.

Yes, I had that happen once at a Starbuck's drive thru. I ordered a very plain, small coffee, and the person in fornt of me paid for it. Lovely , right? Then, the Starbuck's person wanted me to pay for the car behind me which was almost $20 !!! I nicely said no thank you lolol. But I have helped many people in true need over the years. 2 of my 4 adult children still live at home with me. I make it a point to ask, "I'm going out for errands, do you need anything while I am out?" I can be met with, "Can you deposit/cash this for me at the bank?" "Can you pick up X, I'll pay you back?" "Can you drop this off at the post office/UPS/FedEX?" etc. Small stuff, but getting it crossed off of their list as they go start their own days is a good thing. And yes, they reciprocate. : )

I’d like to share that my only child is 42 yrs old. I have a love note he wrote me when he was 7 or 8 that I’ve had in my wallet for at least 35 years. About 10 years ago I laminated it because it was starting to show its age. Also as a massage therapist I’m a firm believer in healing touch. We all need it to live! If I’m ever in Maine I’m going to come over and give you a massage! Also you always want to squeeze and rub towards the heart ❤️

That's funny you touch on this subject because I do this a lot with my husband. I will just send a random text like I did today saying "I love you my hunky hubbie" with a lil kiss emoji when I haven't heard from him in a while. He always responds right away with something similar or he will do the same with me. I esp like when he leaves lil messages on the fridge for me.
