This practice is all about connecting with the endocrine system and bringing balance.

In today's 70 minute Yin Yoga practice we are focusing on bringing balance to your endocrine system - the system that handles all of your hormones! Your endocrine system, located throughout your body, is comprised of many glands producing much needed hormones that regulate your growth, sleep, circulation, energy levels, temperature and SO much more. These glands include the pituitary, pineal, thyroid, parathyroid, spleen, pancreas, adrenals and reproductive organs. Long term stress or illness can lead to imbalances in these glands/organs and in turn lead to excess or insufficient hormone releases that can affect your entire body in a million different ways. Bringing these into balance and keeping them there is our goal today!
The best ways to balance hormones is to practice pranayama (breath regulation), meditation and slow, mindful movement. That is EXACTLY what we are going to do in this practice. Join me!

This is a beautiful practice. I am new to Yin but a 30 year practicing traditional yoga. I love your energy, offerings, wisdom and gentle reminders for self care and awareness. I especially enjoyed the closing singing bowl sounds today. Namaste

Thank you so much! My first time doing this session, I had a headache that went away completely and never came back. I meditate regularly, do other yoga, and NOTHING - including Advil - worked as well as this yoga session. I am so grateful and will continue!!

WAUW! Yesterday I followed the practices for 44 mins. After that I felt fuzzy in a good way. Even though it became late that night, I slept quite good and I don't feel tired/drained today. This is really something I cannot remember I felt that good! Will do the rest of the practise today.

Great practice I have struggled with adrenal fatigue all of my 37 years. My first episode was when I was around 11 in the heat of summer I felt faint after riding my bike on a long bike ridein my hometown on Long Island. Luckily we rode to a store when this happened and I was able to buy something to snack on n drink. The worst episode was when I was 13 and in the heat of Colorado I felt faint and actually fainted n blacked out for a time period until I was able to get some ice to regulate my temperature. My most recent episode was this past August in the heat of South Carolina in a church with no air I felt fatigued and fainted to the ground I had family holding me up n I didn't lose consciousness. Again ice was used to regulate my temperature. This has happened many times in between but I'm able to recognize the symptoms and get to a place to sit and regulate my temperature with a drink or more often a piece of fruit. One time this happened I was working at an....

@@YogaRangerStudio I had! Woken up really bad ☹️. Did your practice and my energy level is OK, not full of beans as usual because I am in PMS and you know ... hormones 🤷, but, believe me... I managed to do my stuff today - conversely to yesterday that I was like "don't talk to me, I kill you, I just want to be left alone in my bed and eat nuts". Namaste 🙏

just wow. I am quite new to yoga, maybe one month of practice. At the beginning i was stressed and nervous, couldn't relax and meditate during these long poses,. But ewentually it made me so relaxed and the whole practice was amazing! thank you so much!

Thanks for the great class! I sometimes have knee issues with poses such as swan, and started using a squishy horseshoe-shaped travel neck pillow--works great for knees AND neck. Also, how about using a bolster for frog pose? It makes it so comfortable that I thought it could be taking away some of the benefits of the pose? I use the neck pillow as well, and it is almost like a massage table.

Good morning Kathy! For swan you can take Resting Swan with your hip onto the side ( bit.ly/YRSBentKneeModifications2) as shown on this little video or prop the opposite hip with pillows or take an on your back version like a figure 4 and gently press the knee away using the same side hand. I will work on a tutorial for options for this pose in particular. I don't recommend using a bolster for Frog pose as it becomes a very Restorative pose and for me, loses the deep opening in the inner thigh (which is what I am using it for usually). I find people tend to just release into the bolster and get little or no inner thigh stretch sensation but always do what works best for you! If you still feel sensation in the inner leg and hips, then you are still accomplishing the same goal. Have a great week! Peace & Namaste, Aprille

I had some requests in the fall for tutorials for working with knee issues and below are 2 videos with suggestions on knee modifications for common knee issues. While I do offer some modifications and suggestions for knees, back problems are so varied it would be difficult to make suggestions that would fit everyone. I always suggest having many props around (towels: hand towels, beach towels, extra pillows and blocks) to give yourself the propping you might need to relieve these areas - both knees and back. Please use whatever you need to find more comfort in the poses and possibly reduce the depth of your pose to keep these areas safe. Shorter Yin practices might be better for a bit until you know what props to use to give you the support you might need. I have also been uploading some Beginner Yin practices that include LOTS of prop suggestions so maybe try these out? I am attaching a link for these as well.
