We bought this 1965 Chevrolet C10 sight unseen! The Truck Tech team begins the teardown process and makes some upgrade decisions for Project Lo ‘n Slo. The '65 C10 Fleetside gets a coilover conversion that will slam her to the ground and a turbo setup on the 292 straight-six. Plus, we protect Mother Nature's patina with a pearl finish. The pickup also gets prepped for a custom interior complete with an easy-install aluminum kit that mimics the original.

My dad owned a long bed 65 chevy C-10 with 283 power pack 3 speed in the column. That was the first vehicle I learned to drive on our dirt road farm. It was a tough old truck which we named "Old Blue". We bear hunted, deer hunted, and keep beehives deep in the North Carolina Bays. This truck was even a daily driver to work for my father and served our family well. When I see these trucks it brings back good memories.

Today everyone is so LS swap crazy, the good old 6's are overlooked even though there are lots of performance parts made for both the fords chevys and even the dodge slant 6. Check out the video of a slant 6 getting a performance build. It was really cool. (This from a chevy fan) Cheers!

When I was watching him put the flywheel bolts in I was wondering about using locktite. I thought back when I was a lot younger, 40 years ago. We didn't use locktite. We just used the term TTT tighter than tight. most of the time using a 1/2" drive ratchet and the breaker bar. The other thing is we didn't use new bolts that often. Even though we cleaned the threads up, There still was some amount of rust left. And I wonder if that helped them stay tight. Now this day and age I would use blue Loctite every time, and torque to spec.

I agree, painting the engine compartment would have been a nice touch. On the outside it’s a sad looking neglected truck and someone ran out of paint. I would have liked seeing the whole vehicle painted. The truck was new once. “The patina” shows nobody took care of that truck and just left it to rot. My Grandfather had an old truck just like that and he took good care of it. He never would have let it just set and rot outside. It’s their truck and their choice. I am glad they fixed it up and did some really cool things to really fix it up very nice, so kudos on that!!!

I really think that would've been something cool to see and it would've absolutely set that engine apart from the standard Offenhauser intake manifold design dating back to the 50s and 60s. You restore/rebuild like old school boys used to do it... One dollar at a time. Takes longer.. result is the same. I'm 14 years into mine, and just about to finish. It's gonna be fun.

I bought a 78 Chevrolet big 10 for $800.00. Pulled the engine and checked the numbers. 350 4bolt main from a 80 to 85 Chevrolet truck. Transmission is 400 turbo 😁. Not bad for 8 hundred bucks. Some people don't know what they are getting rid of when it doesn't run very well.

Any hopped up straight six will need the flywheel dowelled on to the crank, in this case I would use 6 solid 1/2" dowels and upgrade to 180K psi bolts and significantly increase their tightening torque.

Man your YT account name is so on point. All the red tape is the killing of the free world. So the terrorists beat us and we don't even recognise how it went. All in the same safety cell. LOCKDOWN. The truck was cool. I never watched 2:19:35 of anything before.
