Personally I would have put the new snaps on the opposite side to prevent them from catching on something as you brush past. They would have been on the inside the the arm and more protected that way. Then again the way the metal sticks out slightly in that flare gives it decent coverage as the potential grip would glance off of the metal bit before it could grip the snaps. Just something to think about.
