Note: You can turn the artificial sound in the I-PACE off.
This is a rough and ready episode, some wobble on the camera and wibbly driving by Robert, but first impressions on a long drive around Portugal in the Jaguar I-PACE are very encouraging.
Costing from £63,495, this car is eligible for the OLEV electric vehicle grant scheme. (We didn't know this when I was in Portugal)
And the I-PACE will be present at Fully Charged Live this weekend!

It's great that the I-Pace turned out to be a decent EV. Competition from established auto manufacturers will be good for everyone!

Dear Robert, you keep referring to "proper journalists" and such, but I think I speak for most Fully Charged viewers when I say I prefer your un-proper approach to reviewing a car. It's very spontaneous, informal and fun, and I like it a lot. There's enough of that "proper" bollocks on every other motoring channel, where they ramble on about boring motoring journalist stuff like how good the chassis is and the sharpness of the steering and other stuff 95% of us don't care about.

I prefer this Jaguar over the Tesla Model X. This is a great car.

hard to believe jaguar was floundering and dated just a decade ago. this is a watershed for jaguar.

Excellent video Robert. Hopefully this recent influx of 'premium' EVs from big name manufacturers will help to trickle down the tech and result in more affordable middle of the range options for the rest of us.

Jaguar gave people an option for the artificial sound . It can be turned off. But by default , its off.

The only unbiased review I've seen. Top Gear said the range was 120 miles! Autocar said it didn't handle like a Jaguar and that all electric cars are the same - sigh !

The I Pace is a good looking car , it is more stylish and more like a real car on the inside and not as minimalist as Tesla which I think is a good thing Styling is great , would not say no to one ...

I love it. Major auto makers are starting to make some really compelling electric cars. It's not a Tesla, but I do credit Tesla for creating the demand for this kind of car. I doubt Jaguar would have made the I-Pace if there was never a Model X. As for me, it might as well be a space ship. I could never afford one, but I'm starting to think that we might actually see an EV for less than $20,000 with a 150-200 mile range some time soon. That's something average people can afford and that's when we'll know that we've arrived.
