What is really irritating is that basically all these fails could be avoided if these people would just bother to spend 30min a week doing some ground handling and would wait for the wing to be airborne before sitting in. On a more demanding takeoff there would have been several injuries.

Most entertaining paragliding video I have ever seen! Some friendly advice: Takeoff: Do not retract gear before fully airborne. Keep even and maximum acceleration until fully airborne. Landing: Keep the approach as stable and straight as possible. Lower your gear in good time before landing. Land into the wind. And generally, pitch control is important. Just my two cents. :-)

Thankyou for the Video. Its not just funny, you also can learn from these mistakes. A Version with comments (what was wrong) would be perfect for beginners.

if you see pilots taking off with brakes pulled and landing in the same way...not even checking the wing when its over their head...its not about wind or wing but its about not haveing the skills (and take offs and landings are the most dangerous moment)...i cant' really blame them but maybe who gave them the permission to fly ;) i hope they will always have good luck and they wont hurt theirselfe or anybody else...but they should really take some lesson for this 2 important things

Is this a competition to see who can do the shittest landing?

Sometimes it is good to remember the basics : you can pilot your wing in standup position. You don't need to jump inside your harness before your wing start to fly neither you have to wait to be on the ground to take out your legs.

Ich bin nie Gleitschirm geflogen, aber habe schon 30 Videos gesehen, bin also Experte ☺. Haben die Leute alle einen Flugschein? Anfänger lässt man doch nicht auf gut Glück dem Schirm vorraus den Hang ruter hüpfen. Aber Leute mit nem Schein würden doch nicht so oft eine Po-landung machen, oder wissen, wie man am Hang startet. Überall wird in Lehrvideos gesagt, vor dem Landen rechtzeitig die Hüfte nach vorn schieben und aus dem Sitz raus, und die Bremse nicht mehr lösen. Ich kenne die Hintergründe der Veranstaltung nicht, steht auch nichts in der Beschreibung, aber das kommt mir komisch vor. Das ist wie ein Verkehrsübungsplatz für Leute ohne Flugausbildung.

Vor der Landung nicht aus dem Gurtzeug zu steigen ist irgendwie so wie zu versuchen, ein Flugzeug mit eingefahrenen Fahrwerk zu landen. Es schaut nicht besonders gut aus oder ist schmerzhaft oder beides.

Airddicted, could you please explain the "background" because especially on the landings there seems to be an appalling lack of basic skills. Why are they all landing on their backsides?

Okay... I've had never heard of this event, so it makes more sens for me to know the pilots aren't flying with their usual equipment... But I can't find reasons for these painfull landings... Are they practicing for accuracy landing?
