I really had a good time with this film. As a Mad Max fan in multimedia forms, this was such a great addition. The world building and politics were fantastic. I gree with everything you said, Chris. I thought as well that it dragged a bit with its pacing, and with the chapter titles. But I think for me, that might help everyone else, is I spent a lot of time just waiting for Ana to show up. I didn't realize that they would spend so much time as a kid. The girl that played Furiosa as a young girl was fantastic, but I just thought that these scenes were a prelude to the story. When it in fact was a very big part of the story. Upon the second viewing, the time wasn't as noticeable for me.

this movie was insane. i think like you said was a little slow at times but it was because of the story building. i think young furiosa was so good. the car chase scene is probably the best movie scene ive seen this year.

For a movie it felt noticeably slow at times yet at the same time i appreciate that they took their time. It adds a sense of realism and detail to the unfolding of events. I was even somewhat dissapointed that they didn't show more of the 40day war but it's furiosa's movie after all.

Yes he wants to do a Mad Max prequel set one year before Fury Road with Mad Max, unknown if Tom Hardy will return or another actor

Apparently Tom Hardy is contracted for another three films. As an Australian it's a bit disappointing, same with Fury Road I would have preferred a more Australian main cast. However the cheeky irony of John Howard playing the People Eater will never be lost on me...

Judging from the fact that it's a huge bomb, I doubt it. Lowest Memorial Day weekend in over 40 years. Barely going to make $30m for the entire 4-day weekend, apparently. Total catastrophe. They may not even make their budget back. It's a real shame, as I saw it today and it's fantastic. But that said: was it really necessary? We already knew Furiosa's back story from "Fury Road". He should have followed it up with the planned "Mad Max: The Wasteland". "Furiosa" is brilliant and a stunning experience - but given that we didn't need this, as we knew what happened to her - the whole film, as fantastic as it is - feels redundant - and structurally, the chapter aspect of it makes it feel a bit choppy in terms of momentum. I think it's going to really take off with audiences once it ends up on streaming. But making a film without Max, for the fanbase, at least, was always going to be a big risk, theatrically - but the main problem, as said, is that it's basically a movie that shows what we already knew after watching "Fury Road". It would have been smarter, from a marketing standpoint, to make "Furiosa" be a mini-series and to do "The Wasteland" as the next theatrical after "Fury Road". Because with this level of a box office disappointment - as in, historically bad disappointment - I doubt Warner Bros. is going to greenlight "The Wasteland" now. In other words, I think Miller basically shot himself in the foot, here. Which is a real shame, as "Furiosa", as superfluous as it may be, is still an amazing piece of work. But because of it doing SO badly this weekend, we may never get the third film now and see Hardy come back.

Can’t wait to watch this film! I am a huge fan of Fury Road! As for a post apocalyptic film I adore, I am a massive, and I mean MASSIVE fan of Children of Men. An absolute masterpiece of filmmaking and one of my favorite movies of all time.

I watched the film, and was engaged from start to end, far more than Furry Road. While not nearly at the same level of Dune, was my second favourite movie of the year. The movie was over, and I wanted far more. At no point did I find the movie slow. I can understand why the critics would find the movie not as engaging, it was tremendous fun, and riveting, not the dull drivel critics love.

The story wasn't as lean and mean as Fury Road but I found the action, cinematography, and production design was still just as creative and exciting-overall blast and definitely worth it, especially on IMAX.

Saw it last night for $7, and I enjoyed it. I liked the use of practical effects in Fury Road compared to this prequel, as the CG looked a bit janky at times

I watched the new all Mad Max movies, but this one felt long; the story itself is pretty straightforward. It’s a very well done and clear vision, but not my jam. I like that there are 2 villains in this movie; who is the worst bad guy?

Not my Max! Bring back Mel - I think he's Mad enough now lol! I 'enjoyed' Zombieland, WWZ, 28 Days, Matrix, Mad Max 1 & 2 (of course!), Shaun of the Dead, The World's End, Blade Runner, Terminator 1 & 2, to name a few. I couldn't finish The Road...just too realistically brutal.

This movie looks horrible compared to the previous movies, everyone is on fucking crack! I can't explain it any other way, the CGI and everything is 10 times below the quality of Fury Road and it seems like I'm living in an Invasion of The Body Snatchers scenario.
