I good morning Tabitha this is Lonnie and some of the things I used was a small terracotta pot only two and a half inches tall for a drape I used the luminescent face down on an old Jello molds to give it three dimensions and just fired it and you can do like you did on the lilies two different levels so it gives it even more dimension on the statements I just did around and use the stringers molded stringers and then I did a very long stem and I use two of my fire blocks half inch half inch by half inch which gives it to two rows and drape the gloss over that too for the stems hope that helps bye

Tabitha, During your video you cut something to make a nice easy slump for your flowers when slumping. I am not sure what you referred to or where to buy the product? Did you back it in the over or kiln first? What degree and for how long. As always, you produce one of the best videos on the internet. Thank you
@TabithasGlassEmporium
@TabithasGlassEmporium 2 жыл бұрын
I used SilkeMat to slump some of the flowers in (sorry, I see it was misspelled in the materials used). There are instructions that come with it on how to rigidize it. It can be put in the kiln to be rigidized or in the oven, this time I used an oven.

So fantastic! My daughter makes wreaths and I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a variety of glass flowers that she can add to the wreaths she’s making. I’ve already started making some flowers for her. She will be so excited! I assume that I can glue a strip of wire across the back of the flowers to use for wiring them into the wreath base? Thank you so much Tabatha for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
@TabithasGlassEmporium
@TabithasGlassEmporium 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. Yes, you can glue the wire after, but you can also, depending on the flower try to fuse it with the wire, it would be more secure that way. Of course, it will depend on the type of flower and if the design allows you to hide the wire underneath. Good luck, and please share the wreaths your daughter is making, I would love to see them with the glass flowers incorporated in.

Tabitha… I wish I could move as fast as you do! My question: can you ever put too much glue on the fibre paper? Do you always use Glastac? Thanks a bunch… I really love all your videos. Kathie from Mexico 🐢
@TabithasGlassEmporium
@TabithasGlassEmporium 2 жыл бұрын
I always try to use as little glue as possible as it can bubble in the kiln and move things around. Fiber paper will absorb the glue, so the bubbling is not too much of an issue, but I still try to be careful and not overdo it. And yes, I primarily use Glastac glue. I do on occasion use super glue (the cheapest possible I can find) if I need the bits not to move at all.

@@karmeluka we mostly use blue glue to hold everything to place in the process of creating a piece. Sometimes we use PVA glue as well, but the blue one is transparent so you can better see the piece you are working on. Red glue is used when you have already put everything together on the piece and you want to secure it so it doesn't fall off, easier is to just put the red glue on it than gluing every little piece individually with blue glue.
