WOOTZ steel from bearings . Making folding CHOPPING knife

In this video we will make wootz steel from bearings. After we forge an ingot of wootz into a plate, we will cut off a piece and make a folding chopping knife. The handle material is Micarta. @@jistyclovek4693 because it's the easiest way to make knife steel 😂 no offense he makes great knives but to me technically it's not wootz it's just modern steel melted in a crusivel.

@@knifethrower9733 It is not that easy to just melt steel in crucible - make damascuc steel (i meen modern patern welding, not original wootz damascus) is easier than this. You need right tool and knowlage to "just melt modern steel in crucible" yes it is not original wootz recepture but it is crucible steel - not something magical or mystical, but wel proforming cool pice of exotic material that you donť see every day. Sory about my english I am Czech and I am too lazy to use translator :)

If you place cardboard between the crucible and the fire brick, it will keep it from sticking.

@Andre Johnson. Even if he didn't put the filter on there; it would do nothing for or against your vision. Your screen could never produce the brightness of welding plasma to cause any damage to your eyes. If anything the filter was to protect his camera as the brightness can damage the camera if he had it too close. But you on the other end would be just fine. That's like thinking that watching a video on uranium will give you radiation poisoning if the camera were not lead lined🤣🤣. If you could get welders flash through your device; welding would be illegal to record as there would be literally millions blind or visually impaired literally on a daily basis from all the welding videos out there in which a large amount do not filter the arc.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

For a moment I thought: "Man, arrow heads made from this alloy would be neat!" But then I thought that would be a waste because this variant of steel is too precious to be spent that way.
