Amen and amen. The world is Christ's inheritance. The whole purpose of creation is to glorify God, who is and will be enthroned as the messianic king of the House of David, and people from all nations and languages will be counted as citizens of his heavenly kingdom. Thinking about this truth has given me joy beyond all joy.

Hebrews 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. 1 Peter 1:10-11 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. I thought of these verses as Dr. White was explaining why Jesus is used in Jude rather than LORD it seems consistent.

The Aramaic Peshitta states that God rescued the people from Egypt. Jude 5. That's the original text of Jude. And Jude 4 specifically says "Marya God and Marya Jesus Messiah" where Marya is the "Lord Yah" - the tetragrammaton form in the Aramaic. The tetragrammaton being used many times in the Peshitta and not occurring at all ever in the Greek text.

I like Dr. White but from what I make out is that he does not believe that God preserved His words through the ages please read Psalms 12; 7 God will preserve His word forever.

Would like to know how you came to that conclusion. After watching 2 lectures at G5 about manuscripts he doesn’t come across to me like that. I think I will try to get his book “Scripture Alone: Exploring the Bible's Accuracy, Authority and Authenticity” and see what he says in it.

If you read all of Psalm 12 it's obviously not about God preserving His words, and it's especially not about God choosing one specific English translation and excluding all others. KJV-onlyists are the only people I've ever heard of who think Psalm 12:7 has anything to do with Bible translation. There's a ton of information available about this, including from James White himself. Just search youtube for 'james white psalm 12".

“If Catholic interpretation gives a preeminent place to religious authority... mainline Protestantism does the same for technical expertise... Mainline Protestantism... has given magisterial authority to ‘scientific’ study proceeding from university-level research, while attempting to adapt such learning to the needs of the pew and while recognizing the importance of popular leaders as mediators of the technical expertise..." That is a lot of hot air. You are basically arguing for Biblical ignorance. So one can go deep into the Bible, but not too deep as to become 'scientific'? Sounds like you are a member of Bethel Redding, where their catch-phrase is "It's NOT the Father, Son, and Holy Scripture." Biblical ignorance leads to heresy, i.e. babbling in gibberish, laughing hysterically, false prophecies, etc. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15. "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so." Acts 17:11.

Why some have problems with Reasoned eclecticism. I John 5:7 is found in a majority of the Latin, but not the Greek so out it goes. Good will towards men Doxology in Matthew Without cause God manifest in the flesh Are a majority in the Greek but not in the Latin, so out they go The PA and Mark 16:9-20 are a majority in both the Greek and Latin so out they go. Even the “not yet” found in the two of the earliest(P66.P75) in John 7:8 some throw out. If as an orthodox Christian you don't see a problem, what would you see as a problem?

@@xceptamanbbornagainnokingd5836 sad. So it's headed by a bad translation of the name YHWH, and He waited for 1600 years for His Word to be translated properly. I guess that means it wasn't available for all generations as we are told it would be. At least I know my God hasn't failed in His promises. Hopefully someday you will realize how God preserved His Word.

You are a Moron. How is telling the Muslims that the god of Islam didn't understand the Trinity when it says And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. A defense of Islam.
@MarkCowperthwaite
@MarkCowperthwaite 5 жыл бұрын
Your comment makes no sense. Dr. White has debated Islamic scholars all over the world and preached the Gospel in mosques at times as they offer the venue for such debates. He has never defended Islam, but he also doesn't join those whose arguments against Islam make us of fallacious tactics such as straw men. If you think Dr. White defends Islam wrongfully, then I would challenge you to post a quote in context that shows such. Otherwise, you are guilty of false witness.
