Also Gabbie’s obsession with weed is typical of a high school kid trying it for the first time and suddenly revolving their whole life around it. Such main character syndrome where she thinks all her fans and haters are NPCs and she is the quirky weird girl that is not like the others. She is the most emotionally immature 31 year old ever.

Exactly. If she says she loves music so much and wants to enhance her career, why not experiment with different genres and see what works well with her audience? I think the entitlement also comes in sitting down and saying: "I want people to care about my art or else I'm miserable" flash news, nobody owes you their attention, and just because it's "YOU" (AKA a person with a big following) doesn't mean people HAS to like what you do. She is the most self-obsessed person I’ve ever encountered, by far. All she does is talk about herself, think about herself, make paintings and drawings of herself, and write songs and poetry about herself. The only times in her life she’s ever even considered other people are when she’s either deciding what use they have to her, or she’s looking at them in relation to herself. Yet she loves to say that her “haters” are just jealous of her- hell no! I don’t want her life; she seems absolutely miserable.

Instead of talking so much about what she really wants to do, why doesn't she get on with doing it. Spend 10,000 hours performing, grow authentically without all this chat. You cannot expect to just have a huge fan base. Her entire goal being to find a fan base of her music is wild to me, that's more about validation and fame hunger than genuinely believing you can't do anything but make music. She's obsessed with convincing people that she's creative.

I would have followed her music career if she didn’t get so hostile towards literally everyone she ever met. The few songs I’ve heard are very good but I don’t want to support someone who hurts others like Gabbie does. I also don’t want to support someone who clearly needs mental help and guidance- it feels like, by giving my support, I am enabling her to continue living an unhealthy and unsustainable lifestyle. If I saw real growth and actualization on her part I would consider refollowing. Until then- it’s too painful to watch someone I used to find funny and relatable just floundering.

Gabbie is her own worst enemy. She has let d-list fame go to her head. Her ego and inability to take responsibility for her actions have pushed her fan base away. Her and Trisha Paytas have soooo much in common! They both are dramatic, problematic, and are always the victims. Gabbie's audience are adults and see right thru her b.s. At 30ish, she's not old, but the younger audience aren't interested in what she's creating. So, all the immature crap she did on tic toc went unnoticed by them. She refused to grow and listen to her fans that had been around since vine, and is now stuck in this "no man's land". She's to immature for the millennials and to cringe for the Z's. Ikr the whole “I was put on earth to do this” was so annoying to me. With her, it's like she genuinely believes that she is some important hero figure that HAS to do music. I'm not going to feel sorry for a toxic person that has life so incredibly easy yet all she does is complain about it. I never seen nee truly leaving the internet I knew 100% she would be back for that sweet money and attention that she craves so desperately.

She should have just done what she said she wants to do, and NOT tell the internet…😒 If she despises social media so much, why is she using it to tell us what she’s going to do? I get it, she wants to be known as an artist, but tell us in the music that you record. I think the masses would appreciate that more than a whine and a plea. “Don’t talk about it, be about it.”

It seems to me like she puts so much pressure on herself. Hearing her talk about her "2 only options" sounds so painful, like she's backing herself into a corner unintentionally. I think this happens in mental health when you're not feeling well, your options start to seem slimer than they really are. I'm not saying her life is easy, but I know what its like when you're struggling and feel this extreme invisible pressure that others can't seem to rationalize. If you don't like her don't watch her, if you think she could improve or change her content then give her tangible suggestions, etc. Don't enjoy people's financial and mental suffering no matter how much you dislike them.
@tiredstudent4547

At this point in time, i feel that she is choosing to ignore helpful advice and this isn't about the pressure she faces, but rather, a continued criticism of her painting herself as a victim of online bullying, when she has consistently been the bully, from other KZfaqrs to her own fans. Her criticism of social media is ridiculous when you take into account that she created her platform and the scandals she's been in. She has had ample opportunity to improve her corner of the internet by apologizing to the people she flat out bullied and victimized and she didn't. She deflected and made excuses for her despicable behavior under the guise of mental health issues. As a person currently in the master's program for psychology, I find a lot of her actions deplorable. I agree that her mental health can affect her thoughts and behaviors. However, she has been very calculated with a lot of posts prior to her rebrand. Remember the "meltdown" videos on TikTok? She used mental health for all those things, then changed her statement saying it was satire. What she posts on the internet had a direct affect on other people with mental health issues. There are several studies that show a link towards people's perception on mental health issues and media, from movies to current social media. She makes everyone else with the same or similar diagnosis as "crazy" and until she finally takes accountability, there will be no way for her to be truly successful without constantly being scrutinized and criticized for all her wrong doings. You don't need to watch her stuff in order to continue to dislike her. "If you don't like her, don't watch her" only works if people disliked her content, rather than who she is as a person. If she is really doing all this because of her mental health then she needs to go to therapy. We all need to remember that she is a full grown ADULT. The human brain fully matures at the age of 25; she is 31 already. She needs to stop acting like an entitled person and demanding people to forgive her or forget her past actions. She needs to apologize properly and publically to all those she has affected.

Thank you for mentioning how hard musicians work, and the sacrifices we have to make. For decades I worked the shitty day job, rehearsed after work, played Monday night shows in empty bars, toured in a van and shared tiny motel rooms with three stinky dudes, battled with myself (and the guitar-player) to write songs we could be proud of, booked our shows, designed all of our merch, saw bands who sucked but had a trendy image eclipse us and get all of the good opportunities, sent countless emails to club bookers who never respond, went into debt to pay for a van, along with its gas & upkeep/a rehearsal space/equipment/recording studio time/merch/promotion/travel expenses...I could go on and on. It's a labor of love, often painfully demoralizing and an expensive hobby until you start to make some money (which usually just covers expenses). Sure, most of us would LOVE to make a living from our art, but we don't act like a cranky toddler if it doesn't happen. Gabbie needs to quit her fucking entitled whining, appreciate the advantage she has over 95% of musicians, and focus on what she claims is so important to her: making music. Real artists make art even when no one is watching.

this comment is so REAL - Gabbie can't read sheet music, struggles with best signatures, has very poor relative pitch (idk if she's tone deaf but she struggles staying on pitch without being lead) and yet she has such a good start in the music career bc of her time as an influencer & her followers i wish she would realize realistically that if she had not gotten lucky on vine then her songs wouldnt exist right now. she does not have enough talent musically to make it and it would be so much more helpful if she realized this & worked on it or even just.... felt more grateful lmfao idk if she believes in her head that bc she wants it she deserves it but that's not correct AT ALL

honestly, I kinda feel for her. feeling trapped in what made you successful in the first place and feeling like you don't have any room to grow, that is. I still wish that her first post on social media would be taking accountability and acknowledging that she DID cause significant psychological damage to some people. I feel like it would have been her coming to peace with her past and growing from it. now she just brushed it aside.

It's pretty sad that she doesn't see that the only thing getting in the way of her success is herself. If she actually learned to listen to the critique & grow, she wouldn't have such a volatile relationship with the internet. I liked her music - I wanted to support it so badly. Her new song Rewired is an exciting step, but I can't justify supporting her being aware of what she's done & hurt so many communities of people.

Every artist, even traditional celebrities have to promote their work and have at least a little social media presence and do things outside of their main line of work. Every singer does interviews and collabs and posts on Twitter and interacts with the fan base, it’s part of the job. You can’t expect people to know who you are and care about you if you don’t let your fans in at least a little bit

I'm down for her doing what she loves regardless of how good I think she is, but the "I wAS PUT ON THIS EARTH TO DO THIS" is a bit dramatic...You can't get anywhere with music or art unless you advertise. I'm one of those 9-5 job having artist x3x; it is EXTREMELY entitled of her...If she just stopped acting like a POS for attention, her relationship with social media wouldn't be this weird and triggering... (Her art is actually good tho--I say this begrudgingly because I SUPER don't like her as a person)
