I really liked it, even though there were some really stupid parts, like she wasn't that freaked out about the "surprise". I'm like WHAT??? Lol I'm new to horror, though.

🖤 I didn't get to do the live show because.....work 😫 I gave the book three stars. It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. I wish it had been more scary and more things going on. The scariest thing to me were the family photographs on the wall.....that shit gets me every time!!

I have to agree with Ashlee those were exactly my feelings on haunting of Ashburne house because I am definitely more into the dark for grittier gory horror and cozy horror is just not it but it was OK

Gave this book 2 stars. It was also my first Darcy Coates. I was bored to tears.... more i think about it i should just give it one star. i would've DNF'd had it not been a booktroop selection lol. skim read the last 1/3 of it.... just awful. juvenile, dumb, not enough characters or development. the ONLY thing i cared about in this book was the cat hahahha i returned the book a few days after i bought it...... so bad. didnt know cozy horror was a thing and apparently it's not a thing for me. With all that said, I can totally see why someone would like it. just absolutely not for me. I have terrible luck whenever i read your booktroop picks lol loved the video

Omg I gave this 4.5 stars even though I definitely thought…MANY TIMES…why the heck is this girl still living in this house? I get that she was struggling financially but I mean I’d rather live in a box than with a creepy creaking bones familial ghost! Gabby I’m so shocked we are so far off…I think my rating went up because I read it outside and pretty much only in the dark. However it took me until page 200 to be actually spooked and I agree that it was very slow. Also I loved her cat because he came in clutch at the scariest moment…but only talking to a cat was super weird. I had a hard time with that part as well.

I DnF'd this book on the part where one of the ladies went missing. It was too slow and repetitive for me. I hope Darcy's other books aren't like this.

I HATED the only Darcy Coates book I read, and I actually enjoy horror-lite. I feel vindicated, because even though I haven't read this particular book, I thought for sure Gabby and Ashley would not be big fans. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I'm glad it wasn't just me. I'm not sure how this author is a best seller.

I gave it 3 stars. The first half was crazy boring and the main character annoyed me so much 🙈 why would you move into a house without food? Like why would someone leave you food 😂 and she’s constantly talking about not having money for food but she never tries for a job. She drove me nuts 🙄

And there were years worth of candles!!!!!! Like what is the issue girl…you didn’t even have to buy them with your broke ass bank account! You’re just being stupid at that point lol! Sorry about all my comments but I’m watching late but still discussing like I’m here live! Whatever lol I’m just gonna go all out and do it lol!
