How would the walkers get into winterfell, it’s protected by high walls and magic, bran the builder imbued winterfell with the same protection that the wall had, but with winterfell there is one big difference the night kings dragon can’t melt stone. Which would leave them impervious to archers with dragon glass arrows, and two dragons

The third Dragon is the Night King; not just because he rides a dragon, but because you need a counter force to balance out Daenery's path. Jon aka Aegon is perhaps the balance, but this war is about these three characters. The Night King is to try to wipe everything out; Daenerys to try to break the wheel and rule them all; Jon Snow to ascend from their dispute and emerge as the prince that was promised.

The show is not at all in-dept or thorough, they basicly butcher the books story and tell a average narrative since season 4, still fun to watch, but it could be so much more.

As much as we'd all love that, it's just not doable realistically. George even said when he first started writing he did it on purpose so no one would be able to adapt his story into film.

A little bit I suppose, but I don't think I'd go that far. It was more about the reunions and establishing the tensions between the northerners and Danny, which will all be swept away rather quickly when they are attacked by the dead. I think if you were a new viewer, the first episode would have simply confused you even more because they throw all these different characters at you in almost rapid fire succession. GoT is doing what it has always done, put you right in the middle of a situation assuming you can figure out the unnecessary details on your own. Episode 1 of this season mirrors season 1 episode 1 in that way. Remember watching that for the first time if you weren't a book reader? It was nearly impossible to keep track of and remember all the characters. It's what I love about the show. They don't dumb it down for the audience.

The NK can't be a Targaryen, the Targaryens are not from the First Men, they're Valyarian. Different people.
