Great to see video back. I'm unsure if the new video layout is temporary because of Gamescom but I prefer the old one's format since it's much easier to move your eyes from face to face when watching.

Re: PS5 pre-order. I live in Australia. We had a mass shortage of PS4s on release. I pre-ordered 2 days after orders came up and I had to wait 2 months after launch. Sony isn't letting Australians register for this pre-order chance deal. This is polar opposite to Microsoft's stance of "we're going to make sure Xbox comes out in every country at the same time". I can see Sony losing sales if they stick with this.

The original Tomb Rsider was created by a British developer,not American.

There is such a small sweet range where a switch pro would need to land because it can't be so powerful to attract tons of games the base switch can't run ie if its more powerful then say an xbox 1 then it is too powerful for its own good and tons of developers would want to port "current gen" (ps4/xbox 1) games to it. And if its not powerful enough to make a significant difference then increasing the power is the wrong focus for a mid generation refresh. I am fine with switch as my handheld/nintendo games system plus having a pc and I am sure many switch owners have either a decent pc or another console. I would rather see a refresh that does not focus on power but on adding better build quality, fixing stick drift, replacing the bezel with more screen, adding Bluetooth audio, better wifi, adding more internal storage at least 64gb maybe 12gb, adding an additional micro sd card slot, perhaps using a new chip to remove the need for active cooling paired with 1080p screen eliminating docked vs un-docked mode, maybe 4k video out primarily for streaming along with getting more streaming services, and the 4k out could also maybe be used by a few games with retro aesthetics

Would it be possible to put the majority of the tech in the dock? I’m no expert in this department. Just a question. Maybe they can offer a dock that’s maybe $100-150 that can boost the games for docked mode. Again I don’t know how this works. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Love Sam but I like how he was nitpicking the Ratchet and Clank demo. He defended the Halo demo saying "it looked and played like Halo". "I can shoot boxes and robots" how is different from Halo. Lol. That is all halo is is shooting things. Lol. But the R&C he wanted more. Plus, they said there was more ways portals or time would affect the game. The portals you fall thru I think they said was more big moments within the game instead of you just finding them and jumping in yourself. The demo also went into how the controller works with the new features. I mean it showed off a demo that looked and played like next gen but not good enough. I think the ps5 pre order situation is blown out of proportion. First the price, the Switch didn’t announce its price until January when they showed off the games and switch at a Japan event. That was about 2 months from release. Look at cellphones too. We get an event from Apple or Samsung about their new phones and then they are out within months. Those people who get the latest iPhone or Note are getting one regardless of price. The only way the price would truly matter if it’s a crazy amount like $700-$1000 just for the console. Even then there will still be hardcore fans getting it. Sony has said before that there would be shortages too. So why is marketing when Sony mention this when announcing pre orders? It’s not. I mean come on. There was even talk early about part shortages in the beginning of the year before the pandemic hit the US. Now we are heading into the 7th month of the pandemic in the US and people are still surprised that things are being affected. Tv shows being canceled, movies delayed or on streaming services, and now consoles. Most consoles are hard to get at launch. Sam mentioned the PS3 and Wii but the ps2 was the same thing. I only got one like 4 months later because I had a friend who worked at a store that got one in. The PS4 and X1 was different but that is like one console generation and there was a pandemic going on world wide. Plus, a lot of people won’t being ordering ps5s or Xbox consoles because they will need to pay bills, feed their families, and survive. As there is many who lost their jobs and aren’t worried about a ps5. This console launch is unexpected territory as we have the pandemic around the world, huge unemployment rate, and no end in site. As for Sony saying it goes by your interest in the ps5 or whatever is fine. I mean I would want someone to get the invite to preorder who has played many games on a PS4 vs a someone who has played a few exclusives. I mean most of the people who applied for the pre order invite are the hardcore fans. Like I signed up for news on the ps5 and I knew about the invite before those that saw it on reddit or a KZfaq video. So those who really wanted a ps5 pre order where looking anywhere for the chance. But I feel like these pre orders aren’t the only ones. Amazon and Best Buy and Gamestop will have them but this time around there are a ton of retailers closed or out of business that won’t be selling any ps5 or XSX consoles. Sony is stepping in. I mean MS has been selling the X1 since forever on their site. Also the resellers will hit and I’m glad. So glad assholes won’t be allowed to pre order a multiple ps5s or XSX consoles and sell them with almost a double the price tag. It will still happen as there will be those that will get their hands on some of them.

On the discussion about price for new console.. I honestly think Sony knows Microsoft is willing to undercut them.. You make it a hard to find item that you “got to have” for holidays.. have a preorder “selection” process of their most “loyal” customers.. reveal price a couple weeks out.. don’t give Microsoft a ton of time to market that they are lower priced, plus you have a bunch of people who preordered that feel “lucky/special” that most likely won’t cancel... Maybe it’s not that intricate..but if I can think of something like that.. I’m sure an entire marketing team can.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The Switch sales figures are really skewed with the lite coming on the market. If you want to play local multiplayer on PS4 you buy a controller, for Switch you buy a lite

PS5 is gearing up for pre-release, and we still don't know what the UI is going to look like, how extensive backwards compatibility with PS4 is going to be, how much it is going to cost...WTF!? I guess I'm not that hardcore anymore, but until I know if I'll be able to play my huge digital game library on it and how much it costs, I'm totally content waiting and watching. Still very content with my PS4 Pro thanks.

I agree with Tina. Fuck Sony, I have owned a ps1, ps2, ps3 and ps4. If it's not available day 1, I'll be buying an Xbox one series x, play backwards compatibility and see if it really is a mess. If you make a product, drum up hype and have it for sale. It's not hard. I hope and trust Justin is right.

We do NOT all have 4K TVs. That assumption isn't even close.

I don't understand the want for a more powerful Switch. The more power it is, the less battery life it will have. And if bigger games last an hour but at 4k then it will be mostly used in TV mode which at that point I might as well just play on Playstation or Pc

As far as the discussion of console releases this year goes, IMO I think both Sony and Microsoft should have pushed the release to 2021. Too many have been impacted by the pandemic to the point that even if they want to get a console and are deemed worthy to preorder one they might not be able to because they simply can’t afford to.

You can’t tell me that Sam wouldn’t be all over Ratchet & Clank if it was a Nintendo property.... :rolleyes:
