Great review, great controller! My hands were cramping up playing Hades, and mashing the dash button. The Turbo makes Hades a breeze! Just discovered the channel through your Steamdeck reviews, and stayed for the Switch content!

My instruction to the GameCube was RE4. And I say that before this. The GameCube controller was the best/ on the way to the best design for a console controller that we’ve ever used. I’m up to recently a Xbox guy. And have started venturing outside of micro/xbox. And have (as you have also felt) found my love in Nintendo. And a lot of that is them doing them. They understand who/what they are, and they really play into it. While others are looking for who they are. Nintendo knows who they are and is totally ok with it.

Biggest problem with the Nyxi controllers is the thumb stick on the left is so tall. It doesn't feel like a regular GameCube controller. I have the power a one and it's ok. I'm actually using it to play through Skyward Sword..

I had a power a GameCube controller for my switch. My only downside is it felt off when playing certain games like Breathe of the wild. Most of my library (which is mostly 2D/3D platformers, racing or smash , so I was able to use them or just switch the button layout around if the game gives me the option)

Just put the orange spice one in my Amazon cart for later.

I was looking at these controllers in a previous video… can’t find them anywhere in the uk… only the HORI split pad. Wanted to play my switch abit more but hand are too big for the joy cons. Thanks for reviewing these items, hopefully will be available in the uk soon.

Hey brother, how does this fit into your movement toward gaming minimalism? Last cup you were speaking about only having two controllers (8bitdo & switch pro) and three pieces of hardware (deck, switch, and sp). Are you planning to keep/collect a lot of these extra controllers and accessories or just giving a recommendation for those who aren’t necessarily going the minimalism route?

I try to avoid leaving negative comments, so apologies if this comes across that way. My personal opinion: Would really prefer product reviews be explicitly labeled as such. Personally do not think they should be cup content. Ultimately, it's your platform, not mine, but I will say this: What I think makes a great cup is introspective musings on life and video games; not an advertisement. Even so, looking forward to the next one, man! :)

personally, I always thought that the GameCube controller was one of the most thoughtfully designed controllers ever made. However, I currently use the PS5 duelsense for everything and think it might be the best modern controller.

I grew up on the GameCube, I have always thought it was one of, if not the best controller ever made. Makes sense to have the button you hit the most (A) to be front and center. The only use I have found where it doesn’t do super well for me, is 2d Mario games. Hitting that x for sprint and then jumping doesn’t feel great on the GC controller. Great cup as always sir!
