I dig it. No gameplay, no flash, lots of substance, the chillest vibes. It’s so nice just to sit and have a “one on one conversation”, as it were, with your videos Breath of fresh air compared to what I typically watch and I look forward to your future videos. Hope you and yours are doing great

Man you are a good talker. I just put in my headphones and hear you explain things while at work. Definitely helps me think.

Hey bro, great video! Me again with another unsolicited mega comment. There’s a lot to touch on and think about here. I there’s more nuance going on here than meets the eye with the nostalgia/Nintendo commitment. Games like this represent more than just nostalgia and the relationships us older guys experienced bonding with our friends and families over these titles. Nintendo titles bring to the table a simplicity and a purity. It’s noncommittal, perfect for anyone with limited time or energy to put forward into newer titles. They also provide the perfect “first steps” for us to share with our children into this space. Let’s face it, modern gaming is leaving a lot of the old guard behind. I think as a father, sharing these experiences with the ones we love is beyond exciting. Finding your tribe: brother it’s right here in front of you. It’s your kiddos. It’s the fellow dads in the same boat that are all out here doing the exact same thing you’re doing. Looking for where they fit in the labyrinth that our hobby has become. Expertise isn’t important in whatever area that is holding your interest at the time, passion is. You’ve obviously got that in spades lol. We don’t have to let specific communities consume or define our identities, our identities will shine through within whatever communities we decide to immerse ourselves into. I think the breadwinner idea here is to break the standard of current community walls. Build your own. You’ve already pretty much done exactly that. Share your experiences and your thoughts along the way. I operate a lot in the same manner you have been. I consider myself a “floater”, bouncing around between a plethora of different areas in gaming. That’s ok. The best part of gaming is we are all at different stages of life at different points. My “Eureka!” moment lately has been sci-fi and space opera. It harkened me back to Mega Man X, Gundam Wing, all of these types of things that got me SUPER excited as a kid that somewhere along the way I forgot. I dove into almost strictly high fantasy for almost a decade and a half. I think it’s paramount to revisit old favorites to remember what we truly love so we don’t stay lost in the flow of the current “big thing(s)”. That being said, Nintendo just doesn’t hold me as it did when I was young. I’m far from an expert in the matter but here I am watching these videos not because I’m excited about Nintendo, or the specific things you’re into, but I’m excited to share the broad scope of this hobby as a whole with people my age, and in relatable situations. Your introspection paired with your charisma, and honesty is the lifeblood of your channel to me. I think the takeaway here is boxes are nice. It’s a comforting feeling to jump in one and feel the excitement and acceptance that comes from everyone else in that box. It’s ok to move from box to box. If you find one to call your “home box” that is fantastic! If you don’t, that’s ok too. You can keep trying different boxes. You can build your own box. Just don’t ever forget how to think outside the box. Once you find the people that are capable of that, there’s your extended tribe. Keep doing what you’re doing and savor the journey just as much as the destination! God Bless, and hopefully this comment provided some positive benefit to you or anyone that reads it!

I appreciate your method of using rules and focus to help better your gaming experience. It's important, especially when you have limited time to spend on a hobby. After missing many Nintendo Switch titles during college due to not having money, I got a full time job; and now I’ve been buying used physical Switch games and doing a "Nintendo Switch Farewell Tour" by making a list and playing 30 of the best-selling Switch titles before the next system launches. I spend 10 days on each game, aiming to experience it rather than beat it, and then mail my copy on to a friend so we can discuss it. It's been a fun way to explore the Switch library while also building a tribe/community, and it works for me cause I don't have all the time in the world to beat every game. All that to say, I like your approach of coming back to your hobby analyzing it and trying to make it fit your life more, its a cool way to go about it and the coffee talks make for very creative content

Fellow portable papa here with an Anbernic SP, Switch, and Odin 2 (love my Gamecube and PS2 games). Just wanted to say, your picking up new people as you shed some. Been listening for the last week and I enjoy your very real talks. Currently playing through Zelda Oracle of Ages, Pokemon Crystal (Legacy) while my little one watches curious. He tried out original Mario but can't quite push two buttons at once yet (hes three in August)

With emulation you can play them right now. No need to let Nintendo decide when you can play their games.

@@danl2502 a few years ago the only way to play GameCube games portable was hoping Nintendo would port them to switch, but these days there are so many handheld devices out there that can do the job better than the switch ever could.

Don’t beat yourself too much on your choices and methodology mate. None can understand how it is to balance all those things and your career too (me included) so just do and evolve as you go, no hard feelings, people will bash anything these days.

Think it’s safe to say that if your doing nintendo, steam deck, PlayStation or Xbox content on your Channel the reason we tune in, is for you. Hanging out watching your videos gives me the same feeling as hanging with friends and as a Dad who works more then 40 hours a week to support my wife and kids, getting to hang with you and listen to you talk about games and balancing life gives me that type of balance in my own life that yeah I can’t go out and hang out with my old friends but I found some content creators that are in similar places in life as me trying to learn how to balance our hobbies and dad/husband duties and do all those things while honoring God. That said i support you and know God is using you in this space. Amazing how when we just let go of what we thought God may of wanted for our lives and embrace the blessings that he already has giving us and honor him in those areas (work/family/friendships etc) he begins to put a new calling on your life or perhaps it’s the same calling he had all along but will use you right where you are.
