There’s really only 1 complaint I have about his character outside of his play style, he doesn’t speak for himself and he’s perfectly fine being a general henchman. It would’ve been nice if he said something like “I was raised in desperate times and only had my sheer will to live, the General found me and gave me a second chance. From that day he’s been a father throughout my life, taught me the art of war, and showed me what my true potential is! I am beyond grateful to be his second in command and I will repay my lifelong debt with absolute loyalty.”

The only logical resolution is that Reiko dies trying to tame Onaga. You can never convince me that HE of all people will succeed in taming Onaga. Which is why I think it should lead to Onaga being the final boss of a story expansion DLC. Keep in mind, MK1 doesn’t have the crazy final bosses like Shao Khan or Corrupted Shinnok, so Onaga would fit that role
