Gaming At 4K On The RTX 4070?

This is my longest video yet, and in this one we'll benchmark the GeForce RTX 4070 at 4K in 8 games. We'll be testing the RTX 4070 in Alan Wake 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man remastered, Remnant 2, Trepang 2 and Starfield. We will be testing all kinds of settings, from ray tracing, to path tracing, from DLSS to frame generation. We'll test it all!
The Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 is being marketed as a 1440p GPU, and so is the RTX 4070 Ti, which is quite a bit faster, so how will the RTX 4070 do at 4K in modern demanding titles?

The stuttering issues with Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank were resolved by disabling VRR in Windows. The Elgato 4K capture card does support VRR but it only breaks things most of the time.

great work bringing the benches to the community it was nice seeing some metrics on the 4070 it's a card in all honesty I kinda overlooked

Thank you for continuously supporting the channel, it really is appreciated! The 4070 is one of those cards that dont get enough exposure I think. Many large channels focus on top-end cards, and mid-range cards are often not seen that much. I actually have a 4080 that I used to benchmark as well but have since removed it from rotation as I would like to focus more on entry-level to mid-range cards for now, as I think that will benefit more people.

My only feedback is to increase the metrics in the corner. They can be quite hard to read, especially on a phone and you don't call out the numbers all the time.

I recently purchased the 7800x3d and the ASUS TUF 4070, and I couldn't be happier. I'm running all my games at 1080p with max settings, achieving around 70-80 fps. Opting for the 4070 was a smart move for me, as the price per fps ratio was better than the 4060. In terms of performance, the 4070 offers more bang for your buck. I wholeheartedly recommend this card.

Hi! I was wondering if you tested it on a display that supports 4k natively or on a 1440p screen with DLDSR to 4k. I got a 1440p monitor running games at 4k with DLDSR and this method has an extra performance impact versus if I ran them on a native 4k display. Thanks!

Hi, this was captured on a second PC that has an Elgato 4K 60 Capture card, so the output resolution of the benchmarking PC was native 4K. But the monitor connected to the capture card is a 165hz 1440p panel. This way there is no performance penalty except that VRR does not work.

Its not the gpu its motherboard ram and cpu tbh i have a ddr5 motherboard and a ddr5 32gb ram with an i9 13th gen along with a 3060ti.My gpu is pretty low end and i still get 80-90 fps on 4k ultra setting with no ray tracing or dlss.I might get 4070 myself so my frames would prob go up to 120 atleast

This is not true at all. Once you are fully GPU bound, a faster CPU, RAM etc arent going to make any difference, except the 1%, or less stuttering, at best. A faster CPU will help you get the most out of your GPU, but once the GPU is the limiting factor no amount of CPU horsepower is going to push it further.

You did haha, but not in a bad way. That's the great thing about PCs, it caters for everybody's needs. From those wanting to play at 30 fps to those playing at 500 fps. There's a build for everyone.
