The more I shoot my new Gamo Swarm Hornet the more impressed I become with it. 😀

It worked great! Second easiest gun I’ve ever used for this. The first easiest was my Marauder pistol carbine. I’m impressed by how versatile the Gamo is.

With the repeater and an extra magazine that’d be interesting to try out.👍

First of all, thank you for great videos. Quick question if you don't mind. Do I need do do artillery hold to shoot accurately? I have a Gamo Wildcat Wishper in .177, 1300 fps. Thanks.

It all depends on the consistency of your accuracy. I’ve not found my Swarm Hornet to be hold sensitive. I can set it right on the bag and it is accurate. Many of my other break barrel guns want the loose, artillery hold so they can recoil and move around as needed. Since your gun uses a gas piston like mine I’d think it be the same and not be hold sensitive. I’d set up a target and shoot 5-10 shots normally and then shoot another 5-10 shots at a second target using the artillery hold. If you see better results with the artillery hold than the gun likes that. The nice thing is it’s free to try different holds and then practice whatever that gun prefers. So far I’ve found my Gamo to be the easiest break barrel gun in my collection to shoot accurately.

Glad to see you getting the hang of it...😅😁👍 I bet they are hard to find (and expensive) now, but BSA made a well-regarded repeating underlever called the Goldstar into the early 2000s that I bet you would enjoy if you ever found one to try 👍 I believe Theoben also made a repeating underlever with a gas ram that Beeman imported, IIRC, as the SLR-98.... however, that one was VERY expensive new back in the day if memory serves...😂😭😅 Happy to see that Gamo is still treating you well Scott 🙂👍 With all the stuff I keep getting, I probably should try one of their air shotguns out; I have a big English Sparrow & Starling nesting problem in my carport every year now, and one of those might be just the ticket for "dissuading" them so to speak...😁👍

Thanks! Years ago when I first learned of the repeating break barrel concept I did a bunch of research and believe I read about those guns you mentioned. But, because they were no longer in production they were difficult to find and expensive. Years later I bought that Magfire Extreme last spring and it proved to be a disaster. This spring I decided to take another chance and wow! So far this cheap, remanufactured Gamo has been great, exceeding all my expectations. So far it’s been one of the best airguns I’ve purchased for a long time and likely the best value for the money. I’ve never had any interest in the airgun type shotguns. Admittedly I don’t know much about them but I suspect the novelty would wear off pretty quickly?

@@airgunsofalaska I'm sure it would for most people sure; even I wouldn't want one as my only airgun. I believe the Gamo shotgun is much more of a niche tool - much like the Daisy 753, I believe it would excel at up close pest control in built up areas where long shots aren't a concern, but minimal collateral damage is. Additionally, you can also mount an optic and shoot pellets with the adapter Gamo thoughtfully includes with the gun. Like most smoothbores, these things can supposedly be quite accurate with pellets they like, so the Viper Express has some built-in versatility as well it would seem 👍 I hope that Gamo keeps up the good performance for you Scott, and I'm simply hoping that if my Norica decides to crap out, it'll do so within the warranty period 😅😂🤪 So far, it is proving to be a solid, if unrefined, shooter at least...👍 I really do think you might enjoy one of Jon's Cometas, especially with his tune work added, but I have no idea how expensive it would be to get one in Alaska...💰🤔🤪😅 Take it easy up there Scott...always a pleasure 🙂👍

@@airgunsofalaska FYI Scott, Jon has updated his inventory on Keystone's website; he now has the Cometa Fusion line, as well as some gas ram guns 👍 Sadly, most of his prices have also apparently increased...

@@natesmith5393 I checked out his website and looked up info about the Cometa brand. They look like nice guns. I’m a bit surprised they don’t offer an underlever as that’s the only type of airgun I don’t have a nice model of. It’d be neat to try out a Cometa but I’ve got some other guns currently pulling at my attention. One recently went on sale… I’ve purposely been trying to wait it out, kinda wanting to see if the whim will pass. I feel like I’m losing the battle. Ha ha 😆

@@airgunsofalaska I am also surprised, and recently had a conversation with Jon about it... I believe Stoeger might still offer the S6000 underlever with its pop up breach, and there are still some Hatsan Torpedoes and Proximaa floating around...Gamo recently reintroduced the CFX as a limited edition I believe as well. The CFX used to be quite popular, but I've heard some negative reports on the new ones.....can't think of any others besides the Umarex repeating model they now have, unless you want to spend more and buy the Diana 460 😅😁

I have a maxxim gen 2 and magnum gen 2, copper pellets are the best for these since they wont dirty the barrel and will give more penetration
