Hey, since I study at a Government women's college my BSc course (Food science and Nutrition) doesn't include internship/project or any other practical stuff. When I went out to do these on my own, I was not allowed to, since my course completion isn't dependent on it or the other option was I could do it on my own but I hv to do it while still being enrolled in BSc n hv to miss my final sem classes for about 2 months, and it's quite impossible. But I want to do my MSc in Food science and Tech from Cornell so what else can I do? Any suggestions please? My final sem exams might end around September n I want to apply to Cornell in this Nov. Would any online courses abt Food science still make it show my interests in the subject? Please help. P.S. Ur videos are what has motivated me till date to study abroad. Thank you!!!

Watching your videos since a week and I found it very fruitful. I gave my 12 th final in may/June 2022 and results were published about 5 to 6 months after that and still have not applied for any of the college as I was preparing for CEE(same as neet in Nepal) I got my name in merit list with pretty good rank and marks but not yet enough for full scholarship so now I am planning for to apply for bio medical engineering so what should I do next please guide me if you can!!!! its designed to give students who are good academically some better opportunities during their undergrad such as co-ops, research positions, extracurricular participations, basically these students get exposed to more stuff than regular students :) and no it does not promises any tuition or living expense, that's a different dept. to handle

Hey so I am currently a high school senior and I will be having my highschool final exams in may. I applied to a lot of colleges in fall 2022. I got deffered from Cornell but I ultimately got rejected from all my dream schools. I kind of know why I got rejected(I had very low grades). I applied for architecture program .I can proudly say I had a very impressive portfolio(must be why I got deferred from Cornell) I am definitely going to get very good grades in my 12 finals. But for now I have considered to take a gap year and try again in fall 2023. I want to take part in the Summer Research Program that you mentioned. But I have zero experiemce about research. I am bit concerned if I should join it.

Same, I also gonna have my final year grade this may I got deferred from Upenn and Stanford and eventually rejected from all I've decided to take a gap year and apply in September this year. Btw I'm accepted in UArizona and I'm little confused whether to take gap year or attend 1st year and then apply for transfer.

Hi, I'm not from India but I'm from Mexico and I went through a similar situation because of the lack of opportunities. I thought I'd be super behind compared to students in the US but I had a pretty successful application season and I'm very happy with the results I got, so if you're still interested despite not being from the same country I'd be happy to help :)

Hello, as a low income first generation international student i took a gap year after high school and I want to apply as an undergraduate for mit ( and other colleges but mit is my top choice) will the gap year affect the chances of me getting in ( im currently taking the sat and volunteering as a tutor) but almost all of my ecs are also volunteering. for undergrad, many first year students have to live on-campus hostel/dorms, graduate students can easily live off-campus!

Mam I completed my graduation in 2022 april after that I went for some courses in September I thought that I want to study in abroad after that I joined in tofel center its a 3months course then I wrote the exam in 2023 march 27 I got the result 103/120 it's impossible to go September. Then I planned for January intake 2024 but Jan intake not the best intake in every espects for student visa and interships and scholarships that's why I prefered for 2024 sep intake does this gap effect me for usa

Hi medusa I’m considering taking a gap year after this video thanks to you, despite that I had no idea about college decisions adn I hadn’t prepared for my SAT,TOEFL etc…yet, I always wanted to volunteer and I actually found two teams I can enroll in at the same time. I also want to get a real translation course and enroll in an exchange program (I was accepted in one last summer but couldn’t really travel bc of some visa issues) + I want yo take online courses from edx and get certificates do you think it would add a positive point to my application?

Doing courses is good, but it's better if the courses are graded, that way you can show colleges how good you are at that particular course.

Di I just got my 12th result,my 9th=63,10th=74,11th=61,12th=61,so I'm taking a gap year to improve my grades and also will prepare for jee which I was doing,so it is also a drop for jee too and my reason for 12th low scores is I was more into music production and songwriting stuff and psychology,I'm so stressed about my grades but I'm interested so much please fill me with knowledge I need to know in my case for going in ivy leagues, also I'm confident in improving 12th grades with improvement so can you analyse my case and also how can I use my gap year for this

nope, there is a section in common app where you answer that whether you had a gap year or not, below that there is a small section where you can explain your reasons, it is optional but I highly request anyone to not leave it empty

You have to apply a year before to get into Fall intake and only 4 months to get into summer and spring intakes ....!!!??? I actually don't get this idea 😶🌫️😶!!!

it actually isn't if you write it down! example as shown in the video: Fall 2023 applications opened last year 2022 in august, you had time till Jan 15,2022 to finish applying under the fall intake. Spring session starts mid to late January and Summer session starts from May. If you started applications late, then summer and rolling is the only thing you are left with :)

you will have to go through the whole undergrad (pre-med) option if you drop your mbbs.. MCAT for your MD comes after 4 years of pre-med/undergrad!

For Fall 2024, you can start preparing in August 2023. EA/ ED deadlines will be in Nov 2023 and RD deadlines in Jan 2024. For International students it's always better to apply EA!

it was really a helpful video. can i apply after completing 1 year from india and then applying for us.will it save my 1 year? ( i only require 2 months to do best for coming sat)presently i am giving my board examination after jee mains.

if you do one year from india and then don't take a transfer than your one year is wasted, you cannot transfer credits as a first year applicant

Nope- acceptance rates is very low, chances of scholarships is also very low
