Middangaerd (Meaning Middle-Earth in Old English) is inspired by the elegiac Old English poem “The Wanderer” from the Exeter Book. J.R.R Tolkien himself was inspired by this poem for his “Lament for the Rohirrim”.

What I really love is how legit Gealdyr produces his sound, I'm always jaw dropped at the end of each song and this one also has done that for me. Such fantastic Nordic/Saxon folk from the Dutch artist.

Sounds very breathtaking and hypnotic, the drums and your voice give the music a sense of vastness, meaning and importance like something very important is being talked about and praised. Wardruna also have this sense when you both play drums it makes a person want to kneel because it feels like I'm standing before something big and majestic and holly like a god. It is very touching and soothing💖
