Hey guys, thanks for watching. Hope you're all safe and healthy right now. If you can afford some car parts right now, use the link in our description and discount code: GEARS&GASOLINE to buy what you want at MAPerformance's site. If you can't, don't sweat it. Things are rough out there, homie.

I have a Evo x and I have been buying part from MAP after your videos. Quality of part and prices are awesome. The only problem is that if you are in a hurry for part do not buy it from them. Last order a place was 2 k in parts and it took a week only to get it ship. At this time still missing parts from a order placed on 23rd of March. In other note thanks for your videos you guys are awesome!!!!

hmm can you tell us why would you change so many parts in to ''race'' ones if you are keeping the stock turbo and making like 300hp-ish? its just a wast of money is int it? I mean now you will be able to put down the power Easy, and have exceptional handling but there is nothing to put down tho hmm.

This is coming along nicely. Alot of work but with the right people around you these things are fun to witness and see everything evolve. I miss my mechanic days watching this, had to stop my own project due to major health issues(crohnic illness since 2001) but hey i at least had the chance in life to try out the job i wanted to do for 12 years, it has cost me alot but also learned alot. And beeing a mechanic, teaches you to become logical in thinking and problem solving, you notice that in every day life to that beeing a ex mechanic comes in handy with small shores. But yeah you still miss wrenching to fit that bigger turbo and anticipating those dyno results and actually driving with new mods and also so to make customers cars run like new again,it's just always the stress and crunch that got in the way of actually truelly enjoying that passion because of my very low immume and energy levels and thats the thing that eventually finished my whole career, got my medical discharge and my concentration was gone to which can be very dangerous as a mechanic. So now i enjoy these video's and look forward to them,so thanks guys for the detailed quality content making me feel apart of something i once had.:-)

Yes, it's a salvage title, has rust, and whatever other issues BUT don't you ever feel self conscious about that. Many people will actually be encouraged to work on their cars that they thought weren't good enough for a project and you will have gathered the experience you'll need for whatever comes next. Keep it up guys!

this series is also a really good example of why making friends in the car community is key. that new front subframe, the rear diff, etc. all came together from dudes helping out other dudes. a lot of times, you can't get everything done on your own. as much as you want to, it's damn near impossible.

I will say my Evo 9 MR was to date, the best car I have ever owned. I owned an Evo 8 I bought new in 2003, was the 2nd documented Evo in California. Sold the 8 to get a 9 Base in 2006. Feb 2007 traded my 9 Base, for a 9 MR. Sold the 9 MR after 5 yrs of ownership due to financial problems from my divorce. Tried buying a new X in 2012 had it only 3 months and had to return it due to my now tarnished financial past catching up with me and couldn't get financed (Divorce is horrible). Out of the 4 Evo's I was so fortunate to call my own over the years, the 9 MR was my favorite. With some mild mods, stock turbo on 91 California pump on a mustang dyno it made 340 whp and I drove it like that for 5 yrs. Never had an issue. It was comfortable, reasonably quiet even with a Buschar Racing turbo back exhaust and would net me 24mpg's on the highway to boot. Miss that car to this day. Cherish your Evo's guys....They truly are one of the greatest road cars that are out there. 👍😎

That damn clutch spring thing on the pressure plate... i'm glad it took them "a couple tries" too. I had mine off 3 or 4 times in the 10 years i had the previous car and it is a PITA. I never could do it in the car. Pulling the motor is only a couple more bolts once the t-case and trans are off. Such a PITA. Oh, and i bought another EVO about 6 months ago.
