Ironwood is another new cover material for me from Great Eastern Cutlery's Tidioute brand. This stockman is nicknamed the Calf Roper, and the desert ironwood really does set it off. This particular material was done as an SFO for The Knife Connection, and I am a big fan!

I really like that knife. I'm a big fan of GEC's clean, no nonsense Tidioute series.

That is a beauty! I just managed to get my hands on a production-run Tidioute in Antique Autumn Jigged Bone, which is pretty enough, but your ironwood is stunning. The small spay blade makes an excellent whittler btw.

Great. Just Great! I have this little knive with "Hemlock Green Jigged Bone", which is in reality kind of dark brown, from the normal run. But this one is absolutely gorgeous.

I like hearing you talk about the blades, you sound like I would... "sheepsfoot lambsfoot? I don't know." "Drop point spay blade??" That's what I thought when I saw it too.

Beautifully grained ironwood. It's a pity the wood is going to darken quite a bit over the time.
