@@Gstrangeman96 One does not simply have secrets in WoD, I once had my coterie constantly spied on by an NPC coterie composed of a Ravnos, a Gangrel, a Nosferatu and a Malkavian who were steadily relaying everything to our Baron's consort (fucking Malks, swear to God). Shit got very bloody when we eventually made them. I'm glad we didn't metagame that shit because that whole clusterfuck ended up being hilarious and the utter mess we made in that fight helped our reputation quite a lot. Pro tip: develop a code for your coterie to communicate between themselves in a pinch when they can't secure a room for operational security purposes; it will save your unlife more times than you'll realise.

Hi, local VtM storyteller here. It's supposed to be scary, sometimes when my players are a little to sure of themselves I just roll random dice and write nonsense but it gets them back on their toes.

@@fnglert It's a little of both, depending on the role. I knew for instance that I wanted to Nines and Therese to make an appearance, so we looked for people who we thought would be good in those roles; for others, like Eva and X, I wrote the characters for the actors after we realized they would be awesome in those roles...but after that the players make the characters their own.

I don't find him a particularly good character, but the performance is one of the best in the series. The acting was on point from the start, and that is what made it great.

usually in an rpg boss fight, the villain is yet another NPC played by the game master. Of course, a good DM can make the character come to life, but you can't exactly look the big bad in the eye while you trade blows with them. In this format, however, it was possible, as the villain was played by one of the players. And it was amazing. It must have been so satisfying for players. Kudos to Geek and Sundry for organizing this masterpiece.

Chaz was really the star of this episode. His rich vocabulary and narcissistic personality is the epitome of Clan Toreador. The actor playing Chaz - Mark Meer, nailed it. At 2:10:19 he made the best joke\insult of the entire show so far, showing that even his insults must be in a non crass or ordinary way, lol. I just find out he was the one that voiced commander shepard in the mass effect trilogy, something that I would never have guessed, because his voice is so different in here. "We'll Bang, OK?"

watching this with my girlfriend tonight we came up with a new game: everytime X says something, pay attention to Jason's eyebrows and count how many stages of grief they go through. It's very amusing. loved the episode and Nines makeup was awesome :)

I'm having to watch this episode in bite sized chunks due to "life" but each chunk is a delightful morsel. 1:44:00 Storyteller: "...and what was the result of the roll?" Victor: "A great number of successes" Storyteller: "How great are we talking about?" Victor: "Really Great!" Storyteller: "would you care to quantify that..." ROFL I miss when i use to play this game.

I'm glad Mark Meer seemed to have fun with his final appearance. It often sucks for your character to die, but he appears to have enjoyed every minute of it. Also his witty puns/one liners were Perfection!

@poilboiler Oh, absolutely. From what I understand, LA By Night is lightly scripted. So he knew he was dying this session. But even knowing that, people don't usually like it when their character dies, especially when they don't have a choice in the matter. He seemed to approach as "If I'm dying I'm stealing the show."

For example the person playing X was very excited to be able to create their own character for the Vampire NY by Night series.

I'm getting more and more suspicious of Fiorenza. She's certainly using the coterie to forward her own plans within the Camarilla, and I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that she is preparing LA for a puppet prince of her own. Whatever her motives may be, it will nevertheless always be nice to hear that "Victor, my boy!" :)

Madeline Khan could have done Fiorenza... in fact I have a sneaking suspicion that that's who the character was based on originally, cult-classic art culture being what it is. In the Geek & Sundry-verse, I'll bet Debby Woll could do it in "elder" makeup. She's both smart & cheesy enough to pull it off. We have to consider the idea that she intends Victor to be her puppet prince, someone she doesn't have to take responsibility for that she can also use as leverage, while giving him tidbits to keep him on the line. She's the only one Victor truly respects, and she likes the leverage that his distance from in-Cam-house politics could give her. "Kingmaker" is a fun hobby for matriarchs.

@nightridehome - it's in reference to how, in the lore of VtM, part of his punishment for killing his brother was that the children of Cain were the original 13 that the clans come from. While it is disputed amongst the Kindred on if this is true, it would make sense that the current Kindred who know this story would use Cain's name in the same way humans use God's

I love Chaz's actor tying so hard to keep a straight face and not break character. To his credit though he slipped back into Chaz every time! So many talented people are on this series and i love watching them play!

RIP Chaz. Such a shame to lose a Toreador that had the barring of a Ventrue, without the majesty sadly. The majesty may have kept his handsome head on his shoulders, attached and still unliving.

1:35:21 can I just say, as someone who's dealt with an abuser, Nelli taking off her glasses in a mimic of Chaz is an INSPIRED power move. If you know you know. This whole episode is so incredibly well acted, the banter flawless, the characters flawless, the TENSION when Jasper declined sheriff had me holding my breath! The confrontation with Chaz was tense and hilarious and I can't even describe how good it was. Probably the best episode so far, so glad I found this series

First off there will be spoilers. I love how this season ended though, The death of Chaz will not only be great conclusion for Nelli, but should also be a great catalyst for the war to come, which should be amazing. But a part of me really hates to see Chaz leave, he was a perfect villain, and not only was he well made and envisioned for a character, but Mark Meer's portrayal of him was every bit as epic as you could hope for. I know there will be other excellent guests, but I think it will be hard to find one that could pull off that great villain that really drives the party, and really everyone else he seemed to come in contact with...he may be the most hated character in the world, as it seemed only his ghouls like him. :)
