Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, and New Super Mario Bros Wii were among the very first video games I have ever played. I was only 4 years old when my brother introduced me to basically everything that I still love today. We, as a species, did not deserve the godsend that was the Wii.

@@SharinganeditsDAILYMy parents wouldn’t let me watch SpongeBob, because well, I’m from a very religious small town in Alabama, and that’s just how my parents were and how the city was, so I sort of assumed I couldn’t watch anything else but those few shows. But I was definitely able to watch some of those at my grandparents house or if I was visiting a friend, like the time my great-grandmother turned on Regular Show because she thought I would like it and to be honest I did. Most everything else I found odd, even as someone that watched Gravity Falls. Looking back now it was all legendary, nothing beats it. I still stand by Phineas and Ferb being the greatest show of all time considering how obsessed I was with it and how even my mom watched it with me.

Nostalgia holds significance for individuals and societies for several reasons: 1. Emotional well-being: Nostalgia is often associated with positive emotions and can serve as a source of comfort, happiness, and contentment. Reflecting upon nostalgic memories can evoke feelings of warmth, connection, and a sense of belonging, which can contribute to overall emotional well-being. 2. Identity and self-continuity: Nostalgia helps us to establish and maintain a sense of identity by connecting us to our personal and collective past. It allows us to remember and appreciate our roots, experiences, and the people and places that have shaped us. Nostalgic memories contribute to a sense of self-continuity and provide a link between our past, present, and future selves. 3. Social bonds and relationships: Nostalgia often revolves around shared experiences and common cultural references. It can strengthen social bonds by fostering a sense of connection and shared identity with others who have similar nostalgic experiences. Nostalgic conversations and reminiscing can be a way to build and maintain relationships, particularly with friends, family, or individuals who have shared those past experiences. 4. Coping with change and uncertainty: Nostalgia can act as a coping mechanism, providing solace, stability, and a sense of familiarity in times of change, stress, or uncertainty. Nostalgic memories can be a source of comfort and can help individuals navigate through challenging situations by reminding them of previous positive experiences or offering a temporary escape from present difficulties. 5. Inspiration and creativity: Nostalgia can inspire creative expressions such as art, music, literature, or fashion. Revisiting nostalgic themes, styles, or cultural elements can evoke a sense of timelessness and inspiration, both for individuals as well as for broader cultural movements. It's important to note that while nostalgia can have positive effects, an excessive focus purely on the past and yearning for "the good old days" can hinder personal growth and prevent individuals from fully embracing the present. Striking a balance between embracing nostalgia and being present in the current moment is crucial for overall well-being and personal development.

Ngl, Wurdie, but I agree with everything that you said in this video. I own ALL of this stuff, and I can even sell you some of my rare and super rare EXs, Mega EXs, GXs, etc. I played coolmathgames throughout elementary, middle and high school, and I still play them to this very day. Candy Crush? I play that all the time! You just got yourself a buddy! And a 3Ds buddy too! You know what sucks? Back when I was in high school, we NEVER got recess outside because the teachers said that it was just "pointless" and a "waste of time", when it really wasn’t. The only time we got recess was in wellness class during our senior year of high school, and that was pretty much it besides going outside for science labs, environmental science lessons, research and notes; and for experiments. It wasn’t really fair that they did this to me and all the other high school students. But now that I’m in college, I can get my own recess and fresh air that everyone else can and I’m so happy about that.

Being born the same year that the Wii came out means I’ve been playing video games ever since my first memories came about when I was 2 or 3. I mean, my 9th birthday was literally themed around Splatoon. Games aren’t the same anymore. The shows from then were amazing and I enjoyed most of them (whether my parents let me watch them or not), now TV is dead. Nothing hits the same anymore.
