Robert actually wanted his children at the red keep Cersei wouldn't Allow it. In the books Edric Storm is recognized as Robert Baratheon's first child. He's in his late teenage years and is sorta the lord of Storms End holding it off from the Lannisters after Renly's Death and Stannis went North. Robert loved Edric way more than the three royal children and Edric was the child Robert had that he could go hunting with. And Robert apologized to his son he couldn't invite him to court because of all the implications. I like the Brotherhood and the Hound but Gendry had every right to complain. Unlike Beric he wasn't ready to die when Melisandra took him nor would he expect to be resurrected by the Lord of Light which he knew nothing about at the time. It's human to complain from time to time, the way Gendry goes about it has a tendency to wear on one's fellow human beings. Write this as someone who indulged in this same transgression myself for longer than I care to reflect upon.

There is a difference between whining and whinging at least here in Australia there is. Whining is usually done in a high pitched voice (a child whines) whereas whinging is just complaining and can be done in any tone of voice. . It is possible to whinge in a whining voice.
