I'm a senior now and due to chronic back pain, I don't move much now but I have always been very active until now. Sadly, I have gained weight I have never carried before and I must push through to find me again. Through loss of all of my family and depression, I choose to fight. Thank you for this! Same with me car accident oct 2019 then health issue almost killed me then my husband passed away so I been in a wheelchair for over 3 years so it’s been a rough one but I’m ready to walk just don’t know how to go about it if if I can my hip is stuck and I can stand straight up anymore

I’m a paraplegic who was an avid enthusiast prior to my injury, 42 years ago. I can’t do a couple of the moves in your video, so I just adapt and do what I can. Thank you so much for the video. I feel energized!

I've just started doing your yoga classes. I've been doing yoga for 5 yrs and being 73 was finding studio classes not really to my liking and couldn't get the teacher I liked at the classes I attended. I decided to give your classes a go. I have loved every one I have done, which makes me want to do a class every morning, mostly 30 mins. I was worried that I would not be disciplined enough to stick to it but I have and look forward to a new one every morning. I walk for an hour every morning at 5.30am so by 8.30 my body is ready to do whatever class I choose. Kassandra thank you so much for your great classes and being a pensioner the free classes are much appreciated. I live in Darwin, Australia.

I have been doing 2 of your online yoga classes every day for 8-10 weeks. OMG I have no hip pain at all at night or anytime during the day. I was never an exercise person but if I can't commit to a half hour a day at age 66 years old in retirement then I have an issue. Thank you so much Kassandra . I will at some point get my hips off the chair can feel I am much stronger and love the twists.

I'm 76 and started doing yoga 20 years ago. I had total hip replacement 6 weeks ago and started doing chair yoga this week to help loosen up and strengthen muscles I haven't been able to use for almost three months. I would love to see more chair yoga classes. I enjoyed this one very much.

Thank you for this video. I am 59 and work from home and I do not get any type of exercise. Figured this would be a good start and I didn't realize HOW out of shape I was until I did your class thinking it would be really easy and it wasn't BUT I loved it!!

I'm 74 and have strength and balance issues so chair yoga is a wonderful way to improve my flexibility without having to get on the floor since getting up and down is challenging right now. The chair yoga gives me a boost of energy in the morning!

I'm 70 years old, and recovering from a severe injury to the vestibular nerve in my left inner ear, which led to serious balance issues. Along with physical therapy, this chair yoga class has been very helpful for regaining my balance, flexibility and strength. Thanks, Kassandra!

My daughter has been encouraging me to try yoga for years. I tried just a few times and found it so frustrating but then realized the yoga I was going to with a friend was way above my level as a beginner and a senior. I'm 67 years old and just today found your channel and tried the chair yoga. I never realized how out of shape I was until I finished this! It looks so easy when you do it but I can barely move my arms and legs in these positions. I did get frustrated initially but stuck with it and I can really feel a difference. I'm sure I'll feel it even more tomorrow when I wake up but I will keep at it. Will get to it again tomorrow morning - thank you so much. If I can do what you do in this video I will feel really accomplished. Shouldn't take me more than a year or so LOL

This was amazing! I'm in my late 30's but disabled. I had back surgery and then a difficult pregnancy so it's been hard to get back to fitness. I felt amazing after this. I've never tried chair yoga but loved this thanks for creating ❤What a great way to energize to start the day, beat the afternoon slump or feel relaxed before bed

I really enjoyed this, thank you✨️👩‍🌾 I'm retired but work part-time as a middle/high-school lunchlady. I've done yoga since my 20's on and off. Your class was exactly what I needed. I get plenty of lifting(!) reaching and running at work.. I love this gentle version of old familiars.. refreshing and therapeutic 🧘‍♀️

Wow, this a bit of a work out. First time I am trying this. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine as I espressed to her that I needed to find some chair exercises to do. Just to begin to do something. Just for info, I am a big guy at 65 years with knee issues. So doing what I used to do it is not feasible at this time. So I am walking my way back to health with different options. Like this chair yoga. I did as much as I could. I will continue to do this and see how it works for me. Thank you for setting this up.

I really love this video. I practiced yoga for a few years about 7 years ago but haven't since so I need to ease into it. Also, I have a hip injury that I'm trying to heal and this seems about right for that too. My only criticism, is that the lighting is so bright against you and the light background that it's hard to see you very clearly when sitting away from the computer far enough to do the poses.

Thank you so much for this. I'm 57 and have been working out for years. I practiced yoga and ironically got a shoulder injury. I'm on the mend from a back injury from pickleball (stereotypical 😅) and heard about chair yoga. This lesson is great and I'm going to continue doing it and probably more. It's the only stretching that hasn't hurt my back. Thanks!

OMGosh, 68 and have not stretched by body like that for 10 years. Bad knees and athritis in spine. But I really like this and for the first time in a very long time my body feels alive. Thank you.

In the past 16 months, I've had a shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists and a femur fracture and meniscus tear. Plus I turned 65, so I was very nervous about doing many movements and this has been a great way to regain some flexibility in a safe way. Thank you!

I just started doing Yoga. My work is offering free classes twice a month so I thought why not try it. I am really liking it and your video is fantastic. Thank you for creating this video. All I can say is if you have ever wanted to try Yoga and think you can't; I am here to say yes you can. I am 64, overweight and this is the best way to introduce yourself into an exercise program.

Had mouth surgery and the doctor recommended me to avoid looking down, or taking poses with my head low. I truly needed some stretching and this really helped (normally I follow daily beginner/intermediate videos from Kassandra). Of course I avoided folding but at least I could do some poses and my body is really grateful for it. Thank you Kassandra ❤️

I have wanted to get back into yoga for some time now but have found kneeling poses impossible due to a knee replacement. I’m glad I found this video and would be interested in others that have been adapted for those with knee replacements.

So thankful to have found your yoga I was in bed for 18 years. I just started moving the last six so I can get outside and get in the car and have help getting groceries. I’ve just stay in the car and just I can almost make it in to get my pills at the Shoppers Drug Mart and then I come home and if I can make it, I’m breathing a little bit better the kitchen three times a day. I can’t food preparator of course I’m just have a lot of toast too, and I’m just delighted because I gotta do this super slow because right now just lift a pen to write with my right hand. If I write more than an hour in the next day, I have throbbing ribs Around the area lifted my hand so my side up almost my shoulder, but my called my wingspan my wings that’s tough so all day with my mild. I don’t have any disc in the back of my lumbar area. They were shattered and gone. They can’t replace them so that’s the hardest part to morphine. I couldn’t take a lot of medical pain pills for the first 17 years didn’t know what to give me and nothing was working and I had terrible reactions. Had two surgeries during this time you imagine without having morphine or anything given to me I cut into me and removed. My uterus was so squished for eight hours with the car Accident . They removed one egg left, and then they took my gallbladder out. That was three years. It was poisoning me and seven doctors at the hospital didn’t recognize it but finally a student doctor and I was thankful I gave him the same paper with the same journal logs that I’ve been writing every day but what’s happening what I can’t do what I can do and what that pain felt like and my dad finally said that’s enough. I’m gonna go to the hospital and thank God he took the end of he took over because usually I’m known as the daughter that I can handle anything on my own and I try and that’s from being raised in a certain type of family I accept that that’s not always bad but I was so happy when my dad took it over And then the hospital said she’s not leaving until every test is done that you have for every test well my morning 5 o’clock to seven. I had my first ultrasound which they never given me the last three years of my screaming pain of the area near my gallbladder and , within 20 minutes left the room and the manager came in and he said you have to go right across the street and you need to go in the hospital and they need to operate tonight and I said OK right now I said OK so I went and my mom and dad could go to my house and get what I needed later And in the hospital and the surgeon it was during Covid and I was really happy to be there because the one of the surgeon said he hadn’t had a surgery in four months and he was so excited to do one and so I was treated so well I was going down in the area for surgery that night. I was very happy with what happened and I felt 1 million times better but I tell you when you have chronic pain and you go through the years and years of suffering and other things are happening and I got five algin and other things are happening you don’t realize How much damage is being done and you don’t realize when you don’t move at all and you can’t because I had knife stabbing pain for never stopped for 15 years when it felt like a knife was going in my lower lumbar and out constantly some was stabbing me that never left. I tried Jesus attends machine and kept it on my back way longer than usual, so lots of scabs appeared , if you have any tips on removing scabs and really appreciate it

Just finished my first session with your “gentle chair yoga for beginners and seniors”. I haven’t exercised in quite some time and have gained a lot of weight but because of a bad back and bad neck, I haven’t been able to exercise. This was the first exercise that I have tried that I didn’t feel like I was in pain as I did it I will definitely be looking into more of your videos. Thank you so much.

These chair yoga moves are similar to the class I used to attend. I feel comfortable and confident in doing these as they are familiar. It's great I can do it online in my own time too!

Yes, more chair yoga for us experienced yogis who have injuries. I hurt my knee and am trying to resist doing my usual yoga practice. This is a great in-between so I can still do my daily yoga but also protect my knee from further injury. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this chair yoga session. I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Prior to my disability, I was a runner and dancer. I’ve been advised now to be gentle with my body through gentle walks and yoga. This is a great start for me.

I've never done any yoga before but my legs and back are super tight and a fair few people have told me to try Yoga... and this definitely was tough for me but it was a great way of getting some stretching out. Thank you for posting this!

This was hard but I want to stick to it. My hope is that I will be able to dive, have more mobility and be able to walk at least to the mail box and back home without tobmuch of a struggle. The next goal will be not only driving myself to the store but also being able to shop.

This was a great yoga class for one who has had surgeries arthritis.no dangerous moves and for senior who did yoga for many earlier years getting back to gentle movements explained very well.glad I found you will do daily.

My New Years resolution!,Never done yoga,highly recommended! Since I’m 76 years old the chair yoga seems perfect for me to start.

Love the chair yoga to do for a change. When you're not feeling like you have a lot of flexibility for the day, this is great! Please do more of these just to mix it up a bit.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you! I’ve had 5 major abdominal/spinal surgeries in recent years. (A 6th one due in the next few months). I’ve been trying to get back to doing yoga and pilates stretches to recover my fitness but have found even previously simple stretches a challenge. This chair yoga session was so manageable and it felt great to finally achieve some really active stretches. I plan to do these daily between now and the next surgery to help strengthen my core muscles and then resume them as soon as I’m able post surgery. Hopefully in time I’ll be able to get back to doing regular yoga and pilates sessions. In the meantime completing a productive exercise session has felt empowering.

I've been doing your morning 10 minutes yoga stretches and 15 minute gentle flow routines now for four weeks. Unfortunately, I had a fall on a slippery patio two days ago, so I've just started doing your chair yoga as I can't go on my knee. Thank you so much. It's really helping my mindset in the morning and getting my body thing 😊

I cant wait to do this. a friend shared your page wit me. I used to be 150lbs and worked out hard, so hard I am 40 with arthritis so bad in my knees it hurts to move. I have permanent damage to my tendons in my wrists, fractured my tailbone 5 times, and have complications from a broken ankle. I also have COPD. Im trying to work out again so I look forward to your videos. I am 300lbs now and looing to be 150 by december 2021

I had used a yoga app for several years and while never getting beyond a beginner level, I was able to do all of the poses. Due to new health challenges, I am no longer able to do yoga on the mat/floor. I have switched to chair yoga and purchased your class on Udemy and have really enjoyed it. For the past month I have been unable to exercise and now need shorter sessions than the 30 minute classes. This video is perfect for where I am now. I would appreciate additional beginner chair yoga classes on KZfaq that are less than 30 minutes. Thank you Kassandra.

Love the chair yoga, great while I am working at my desk. It is a wonderful way to incorporate it into my day. It is also helpful since I broke a toe, it is healing but I am fearful of regular yoga. Thank you for introducing me to yoga. More beginner chair yoga please!!!

44 and rehabbing a double knee injury and this is by far the best I’ve ever found online so far, I love how much detail and understanding of pain and modification you are aware of with gentle posture attention in the midst of each vinyasa and it feels like I’m in class with you in person. I do a lot of your “regular” classes already, but as someone with a chronic illness that causes pain and fatigue I really appreciate you making this class! I love your yin routines for pain management and I could see this also being a great gentle routine for days when I don’t feel so hot.

I do not like to exercise and my body feels it, but this is short and gentle enough to get me back into it. I am already noticing improvements in my flexibility, which was nonexistent, and minor aches and pains have disappeared. Thank you for this!
