I had a great weekend face and head shave today. Using a Parker 22R, Astra Green blade, ProRaso blue cream, lemon cologne and Jagler cool after shave balm. Feels terrific! Happy shaving Paul 👍🏻

The EJ DE89 was perhaps a lot of our first step up razor when we started wet shaving. That and the Merkur 34C. Love that Omega-S Brush, it is quite the workhorse with the feel of a boar brush. Another great shave.

Yes indeed Paul. I just used a 61 Gillette fatboy on setting 7 with a feather blade. BBS in just two passes. Did get a few small sweepers so I'll have to slow down next time. Was an amazing shave. I love my Edwin Jagger de 89 if I had to only keep two razors it be the Edwin Jagger, and the fatboy

Great shave Paul. I have the Edwin Jagger DE89 so it was nice to hear your thoughts on this razor. Mine has the completely smooth chrome handle which I like. Currently I have an Astra blade in the DE89. I had a lovely shave with it yesterday. Left my face feeling very smooth. Just used a Palmolive stick and my Omega boar brush. Worked well for me. you are so lucky with the variety of blades that agree with your face! I tried Asco blades a couple of years ago and they gave me big time irritation on my neck, which is a shame, coz like you say , they are smooth and sharp and comfortable. Another fantastic Sunday shave mate

How dare you not shave with a $300 razor..😜 Honestly, the EJ DE 89 is a fantastic razor that is overlooked by many wet shavers, may be the low cost, not being machined or stainless steel..IDK.. I always enjoy using one and it's in my permanent rotation. From mild to wild, Lime scented shave software runs the gambit. CF and Capt. Choice are my two picks. It's all good though. TOBS Victorian Lime is a fantastic finish. Great video and banter again as always. Alys was welcomed as well..😊 Enjoy!

Great shave Paul! Yeah there's something to be said for revisiting some of your more pedestrian razors. I had some great shaves with my Merkur 34C HD the other week. Excellent with a Nacet or a 'Spoiler'. At the moment I'm exploring the realm of 'also-ran' razors. I'm shaving with a '73 Gillette Techmatic that I spotted on Ebay for a decent price (came with a second band cartridge too). I'm bucking consensus with it LOL...I am actually getting some sensational shaves thus far. I'll keep going until I kill the cartridge (some folks say the quality of the shaves drops off as you advance the band as toward the last couple of edges, - the band has reduced tension). we shall see. ;-)

Great shave and video, Paul! I have been curious to get DE89, but I already have about 10 razors! I got a fatboy this weekend and feel like I've hit the big time! I know your affinity for citrus. Have you tried Col Conk lime? It is one of my favorites. It is sort of a dank fruitcake lime, but I love it. Very old school!

Paul, I live in what we call the ( sandhills) of North Carolina im not near a river..... an did not lose power we did get 15in of rain but no flooding. I do know some people that had 7 Ft of water in there homes. Trying to help the best we can.

Hey Paul, Thayer's PEACH witch hazel is no longer available on their website. :-( And most distributors like Maggards also no longer carry it so I got a few bottles on amazon while I can since its my very favorite Thayer's witch hazel (lemon is second favorite). Great Shave Paul! Love watching your videos and love the sense of humour! I have a question of recommendation for you though. I started out with Wilkinson Sword Classic razor although good razor, I have a thick coarse beard and the Wilkinson has to work very hard for a good shave. Now I have been using the Merkur 34c for many months which I really enjoyed a lot. I want to buy another razor but don't know which. I was thinking Merkur Futur of Gillette Slim Adjustable although would like to get a vintage one more. Any suggestions for a good razor that is good for thick coarse beard and a very sensitive neck area? Thanks a lot!

Have you noticed the sideburns tend to get longer after so many times shaving? For me it usually does as I tend just to shave from the end instead of actually cutting the ends a little bit.

I've got the same L'oreal aftershave, but I think I'm alergic to some of the ingredients from it. The smell of it's too "rough" for a sensitive aftershave.

But things are quickly improving. Thank you! You have inspired me to try Palmolive. I have some tubes of it coming from eBay. I have since read they the company is no longer going to make it or the stick and it will not be available in the U.K. anymore.
