The ongoing tension between China and the Philippines reached a potentially dangerous tipping point, Philippine authorities have readily claimed that the Chinese vessel had been conducting a series of reckless blocking maneuvers, Chinese authorities, on the other hand, are placing the full blame on the Filipino ship. Jecie185 : why should China listen to Phillipine fabricated evidence when Marcos Jnr, a traitor, sold Phillipine wholesale to the US as a vassal state with all access to " the US under the US HEGEMONY CORRUPTION SCHEME" to enrich his deep pockets of corruption. The sale of Phillipine to the US, push her (Phillipine) into the US QUICKSAND ENTRAPMENT which is impossible for any future leader to get out of it. Marcos Jnr. due to the US Corruption is dancing under the US Puppet String. This led Phillipine Trade and Economy into Status Quo and lead Phillipine into the brink of bankruptcy. Time will tell.

The US has to support the Philippines and abide by the mutual defense treaty between the two countries. Not doing so will send a message to all of the US allies around the world that it's not good on its word. That notion will instantly erode any relationship the US has with its friends and allies, thus tweaking its position as a superpower. The situation with China, the Philippines and the US is a tinderbox and I hope that the CCP realizes that it's perilously close to starting WWIII.

I agree, many people online have overblown tensions as "leading to a global war" but they dont realise is that none of the countries that are a threat are actually capable now compared to when we had the Cold War. it isnt the cold war anymore and people need to see that China, Russia, North Korea are in crap places either financially or Militarily and Population-wise. Anti-war and Anti-Oppression protests are starting to really pick up in Russia on top of having A) Major Military setbacks B)Having the worse Military equipment in the world. China is facing widespread and deep corruption in its Military which means it can give "China's Last Warning" threats to Taiwan and The Philippines but can't actually follow through. and North Korea is well a Famished Country with a crap nuclear arsenal and crap Military equipment. so thats why since the end of the Cold War, Major powers like the EU, US and Allies, China, sometimes Russia goes to annual Peace conferences, dialogues, and Conventions, no one can afford a global war in the 21st Century heck not even in the 20th Century.

China is in a bind. Before it makes a move against the Philippines, it has to be concerned about its interests in Taiwan first. But more than that, China has several other factors that are against China : ✅ It is a net importer of food. Any disruptive action it does in the south china sea will surely affect this factor. ✅ It is also a net importer of oil. A blockade in the Malaca Straight will surely choke its economy ✅ More recently, it is plageued by domestic problems: Worsening economy, slump in its real estate sector (representing 30% of its economy), growing public unrest due to its economic dive, diving stock market, covid related public health issues, growing public protests. ✅ Its aging demographic as a result of its one child policy will render China void of young consumers in a decade's time. All we have to do is wait as China disintegrate.

Thanks for the video, your facts seems to line up with what I know about the situation. One thing you can do is properly locate where the old Subic Bay and Clark bases were located. They are in the wrong location at 3:45. Both were on Luzon, Subic is northeast of Manila and Clark is north of Manila. Also, they are former bases and no longer used for military operations. One is an international airport the other is special economic zone and port.

A conflict in W Phil Sea would likely draw in Japan with its First Island Chain policy. The US would likely bring in Australia, Canada, and UK. Vietnam, though on the sidelines, would look for an opportunity to wreck the dams blocking the Red and Mekong Rivers. I've read that SK has patched up differences with Japan and look for a chance to unite Korea. India would also like to correct its border with China and may advocate for Tibet. China faces the same dilemma Austria faced in 1914, a war with no predictable result and possible internal revolt.

The islands in the South China Seas are disputed territory and the South China Seas are international waters. A 200 miles EEZ is not sovereignty only fishing rights and oil resources below the waters. Ships both civilian and military can sail through a country’s EEZ. That is why the US Navy is able to sail through the Taiwan Straits. Also the United States does not recognize the Scarborough Shoal or the Spratly Islands as Philippines territory only as disputed territory. The Japanese held these islands during World War 2 and the allies did not give these islands to Philippines after the Japanese surrendered in 1945.

I think the Chinese people are unaware of what their gov't is doing. For one thing news is also controlled in China. Journalists are punished when they write something negative about their gov't.

!5:21 That's an oversimplification of the US position. The US accepts and respects that the PRC has a "One-China" policy or principle. As does Taiwan. However, the US is more "pro-status quo", than agreeing with China's assertion, or Taiwan's assertions. On the diplomatic front, the US position is that China and Taiwan's differences and issues should be resolved by China and Taiwan, preferably amicably, diplomatically, and peaceably. The US is against either party upsetting the status quo. So if China invades Taiwan to forceably reunite Taiwan, the US MAY come to Taiwan's aid. However if Taiwan unilaterally declares independence, thus provoking China to attack Taiwan, the US MAY NOT come to Taiwan's aid. This is the US "Strategic Ambiguity" policy when it comes to Taiwan. Of course, the US has its own agenda and national interests, and the prevailing opinion is that an independent and free (from the CCP) Taiwan is critical to US's interests so the US would be likely to intervene militarily to defend Taiwan.

"Strategic Ambiguity" should be analyzed by the Filipinos. Biden can say one thing but his intentions are pretty much like "use American weapons to fight China". Zelensky and Marcos Jr. will earn the recognition of being warriors of democracy while their nations become barren lands with displaced widowed women and children labeled as pitiful refugees. Is it worth it? You are lucky that Xi is not Putin, Filipinos. Stop asking for a war.

I don't think they have to but it would be fun to watch. The fleet there is probably for immediate action if they can find any reason. It's a trap

Every country should respect other territories, including the USA and China. When powers rise, they tend to spread their influence outwards. Think about how the British, Germany, Japan and US dominated the rest of their 'backyards' and the rest of the world when rising as world power. As ordinary citizens of smaller nations, we do not mind the peaceful spread of soft power but dislike those with domineering stance, from both sides of the conflicting powers now.

Subic naval base is not in Palawan (just as you pinned in the map) but in Zambales. Similarly, Clark Airbase is in Pampanga and Tarlac not in Northen Samar( as pinned). All these places are in Luzon, the biggest island. Thank me later.

Full control of the U.S. military bases in the 1990s were not turned over. The bases were closed and vacated in 1992 and the U.S. military had to leave the Philippines. Actually the desire of the U.S. to renew the bases lease was rejected by the Philippine Senate in a close vote of 12-11. The U.S. had to close and leave the bases in 1992.
