Canadian here, the symbolism of the flag is 100% wrong. White and red are traditional colours of France and England, respectively. Canada was never "neutral". Until the Statute of Westminster in 1936, Canada was automatically at war with whomever UK was at war.

I don't think he quite got the flag right and hard to call Canada neutral when Canada was in WW1, WW2, the Korean War and Afghanistan (tho we took a pass on Vietnam and Iraq), but I guess we do try to lead the way in peacekeeping, one of our Prime Ministers won the Nobel Prize for trying to keep the peace. Except when the Americans tried and failed to take over colonial Canada during the War of 1812, burning Toronto to the bloody ground in the process! And in 1867, when the nation of Canada was founded tiny Ottawa was chosen as its capital due to its relative remoteness from the border - because the possibility of another American invasion was still very real. Early Canadians feared and distrusted their American neighbours like today's Latvians, Estonians and Lithuanians fear and distrust Russia.

This is just interesting facts about Canada like "they have the most northernly town of 5 people" and "there is this one library right on the border" but doesnt even talk about how the actual country is.
