The April 8 Eclipse also passes through Comfort, Junction, and Temple in Texas, which I think is super significant when considering Joel’s “Valley of decision” words.

This April 8th is an Eclipse that will complete an X over the US over a small town called Makanda Illinois. I looked up Makanda and their slogan is ‘STAR OF EGYPT’ 😳 The city was named after a Native Chief. What are the odds? The cities around it are ‘De Soto’ meaning (The Grove) ‘Poloma’ meaning (Fruit) ‘Etherton’ ‘Sunfield’ ‘Energy’ and more….it’s next to PYRAMID STATE Recreation area. Also a town named Tamoroa which I looked up and found ‘Tamara’ is Arabic for Date Palm. It’s also right next to ‘Giant City’ State Park (apparently there is giant ancient walls there). During the last eclipse August 21 2017 Makanda, a town of under 600, had over 17,000 people show up to witness the Eclipse. More are said to show up in April. Logistically how is that even possible?

@JOkERBIDEN in what language did you find “Paloma” to mean “fruit?” I know it to be the Spanish word for “dove.” Dove isn’t insignificant in a religious sense, and though! There’s a lot of “Egyptian” influence in rural Illinois; there’s even a Cairo (though they pronounce it Kay-ro rhymes with hay, and not Kai-ro rhymes with eye). Zion, IL is where the nuclear plant is (used to be..?) Also a manhattan (this is a native word…. Possibly a tribe…?), Champaign, and Paris, IL.. Sometimes there’s a need to feel fancy among the corn… Also, the tiny Illinois towns are in the middle of corn, soy, and other farmland. Plenty of space. A lot of people just drove to eclipse sights for totality during the last eclipse, and then drove home immediately afterwards. My family and our neighbors stayed in our neighbor’s uncle’s southern Illinois triple lot backyard for the last eclipse. Plenty of space for day trippers, campers in the nearby state parks, and friends and family of the locals in these little rural towns 😊

@@gingersnaps215 🤔 I’m not sure where I made the correlation between Paloma and fruit now….I think maybe the ‘Paloma Grapefruit’ 🤷‍♂️ a reach I’ll admit. I prefer the Dove explanation more. 😊

Thanks for interviewing Jerry Grover! I love listening to him and also his approach to sharing his books online to download for free. I had not heard him describe the celestial events surrounding Christ's birth before and found this all very fascinating. Since I am also an engineer (retired now) I can relate to him quite well :) Stephen Murphy of "Mormonism with the Murph" also interviewed him not too long ago. I recommend folks listening to those interviews as well, for those who are interested. It sounds like you'll have him on again for describing his 'caractors' document translation. If you can do an additional episode with him after that, it would be really awesome if you can have him talk about his geological descriptions of the destructions of 3rd Nephi just before Christ's appearance, and how that lines up quite well with actual volcanic eruptions in that area of southern Mexico within the range of that exact time period, and how, as a geologist, he describes the details of those kinds of events & how they line up quite well with the physical descriptions given in the Book of Mormon. In one of Stephen Murphy's interviews with Jerry, he talked about this, so folks can always see that video in case you aren't able to interview Jerry on that topic.

The CME and the eclipse that Jerry talks about could have affected that area as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be specific to southern Mexico. The cultural references that he mentions though are specific to southern Mexico at that time period. I don't think the anthropologists and archaeologists who focus on the Hopewell would have that same kind of cultural detail for that time period, so it might be impossible to make the same connection there. Not to say that it couldn't have been similar, but no way to show that it was.

!!!!Ok so your saying that the dates given for the end of Nephite civilization where “Gods judgement will fall upon their heads” is the time given for the Hopewell airburst when you make the adjustment to their calendar. Impactors from the Taurids exploding before hitting the ground. Essentially a bolide. It happened to the Adena and Hopewell according to a paper I saw.

It takes 8 minutes for sunlight to reach earth. Maybe I’m missing something but how could a CME light up the night sky if you’re on the side of the earth facing away from the sun during the night?

The plasma does hit on the sun side but is entrained in the magnetosphere. Just like the northern lights are generally not visible during the day, and the brightness from the event would not be visible in in full sunlight. I apparently can't post links here, but if you look at "Carrington Event" in Wikipedia it talks about the event.
