George just spoke about something so powerful that the Bible teaches: confessing your sin to one another and praying for each other (James 5:16) It’s so powerful. When temptation hits you, if you bring that into the light by confessing it to someone else and asking them to pray for you, it breaks the power of the temptation and leads to freedom. People need to hear this and I’m so glad he shared this story.

@Kryptik33 James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. “If a man carnally lie with a woman that is a bondservant and marriageable, and yet not redeemed with a price, nor made free: they both shall be scourged; and they shall not be put to death, because she was not a free woman. And for his trespass he shall offer a ram to the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. And the priest shall pray for him and for his sin before the Lord: and he shall have mercy on him, and the sin shall be forgiven.” Leviticus‬ ‭19:20-22‬ “He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” St John‬ ‭20:21-23‬ 1 Corinthians 11:2 “I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them onto you.”

This is an awesome topic. This girl told me she didn't want to continue dating on the 3rd date because I was older than her by 5 years. I told her that I do not mind and she was surprised by how okay I was about not continuing dating. I told her that I had prayed to God, that it I'm not meant for her to remove me from her life and if she's not meant for me, to remove her from my life. You do not understand how okay I was with her telling me that she did not want to continue dating because of how strong my faith is with the Lord. George is right. Yeah. That was one of the most asinine comments I’ve ever heard. Imagine plotting mentally about how you wanted to kill someone and you were stewing in your anger day in and day out, hating that person, but because you didn’t “ACTUALLY” kill them, it’s not a sin. Please. 🙄 That mom who gave him that advice is delusional. Married people shouldn’t be ACTIVELY THINKING ABOUT having sex with someone other than their spouse. This shouldn’t even have to be SAID! So glad that some people see through this crap.

Bro, this was a set up. My buddy who was the chief of staff for a Billionaire had two women do the same thing. He turned them down. He talked to his buddy who was the Sheriff and found out shortly after these women had done that to multiple men and got them put in jail. If there's 2 women 1 man, 2 testimonies to corroborate against yours they could accuse you of all sorts of stuff, or film it and extort you. The point is everyone has motives bro, thank God you used some wisdom.

Etc she was like don’t ever look through my phone . At that party in California she was all her other friends that were also in a relationship and one of there boyfriends supposedly was pissed as well, she was telling me this on the phone while at the party … she goes well “he’s controlling” literally all I said back was” maybe he doesn’t like his gf going to parties with is understandable “ and she told me I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS!! She continued to party and go clubbing when she got back home . First time I ever broke up w someone and it absolutely destroyed her ego she told me she went to the hospital the night I broke up w her when I unblocked her called me on multiple different numbers . She lost it. Shouldn’t be fuckin around in a relationship fuck w the bull get the horn ! It was empowering seeing me stand up for myself live in the flesh 😅

For us guys, those thoughts do not automatically lead to action. Others might think it's mentally cheating, or sinful thinking, but what you decide to do afterwards, well after the thought is gone, is what counts. Some let it linger and it can fester and mess up their relationship(s), but others choose to let it go and continue on with their lives and/or discuss it to learn more about each other. So the fact that y'all brought that discussion to the table is helpful.

Thoughts aren't meant to be controlled. Your entire existence is a stream of thoughts, that of which you can't separate from yourself. You have a new thought, you watch it, you let it go. You can't possibly REALLY know why you think what you think, and there's no sense in punishing yourself for it. Behaviour is where you are tested and get to show what type of person you are.

I called her immediately while on this road and told her exactly where I accidentally walked into and she stayed on the phone with me until I got home . The thing that surprised me, she told me she expected me to be nervous or apologize instead, I was very relaxed and happy and it was because instead of accusing me of anything, she helped me get out of that situation. 2 Corinithians 10:5 "Take every thought into captivity and make it obedient to Christ" It doesnt say "only have thoughts that are obedient to Christ" we arent capable of that. The implication of what you are saying is we should not rejoice in the successful resistance of temptation, we should instead be ashamed of having temptation at all. Another translation of Mathew 5:28 says "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart". Lustful intent and overcoming temptation are very different. I am not someone who decides which translation holds the true meaning of God's word, but I personally am very confident that is NOT what he meant. Especially when you compare it to 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has come upon you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." That's pretty obvious to me that this situation is an "endured temptation" not "lustful intent".

George brought up an excellent point regarding thoughts versus your actions and the huge difference between them. And I do remember my mom bringing up the same thing to me when I was younger, and it helped immensely! And to expand on that further we are still human and those thoughts will happen. But as Jesus says in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 5:27-28 says "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'you shall not commit adultery'. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart". This ultimately reveals our need for Christ as our redeemer and saviour. And as George said afterwards that he hasn't those thoughts since and has had a completely new view on things since then, which just goes to show the true power of Christ and the Holy Spirit! As the apostle Paul says in his letter to the church of Galatia in Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I know live in the flesh I live by Faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" God is so powerful, and I have seen it in my own life when I surrendered control of my life to him, amazing things have happened, just like George in his own experience. And he can do the same thing for you! God Bless you all!

He’s right…involving God in the fold changes EVERYTHING…everybody makes mistakes…but if you love that person, forgiving them and moving forward is WAY easier with Gods help than without it…if you haven’t tried it yet what do you have to lose?

yup. Exactly the same thing happened to me. I went on my very first (real) date with this girl, and she was perfect. Everything I wanted from her. Then I met her parents, and it was wicked. Like pure trailer trash. But, I felt really bad for her, and I knew it wasnt her fault. While we were on our second date, I got a call from these girls that I met at a party. This was maybe 3 weeks before dating, and I knew what they wanted. In that split second, I coulda said yes, we coulda fooled around, whatever, but something told me not to. Something told me I didn't want that life, whatever it would bring me. Something told me that this girl I was hanging out with was more than meets the eye, and that I should pursue my passion for her. And 3 years later, I'm marrying that girl I went on a first date. Super happy and faithful. She was worth it.

George pls read this. I am an Orthodox Christian and I have to say that your mother gave you a wrong info. Thought are sinful and fantasies are sin too. When I think about my ex I know that is a sin just because thinking about it can lead to do something bad. It is not sinful when you stop yourself right after you started thinking about something that could lead you to sin. Sorry for my bad English

The worst kind of people are the ones close to you and push you to do what is not right and to do something regretful. Not even push but persuade you, pressure you to go and cave in to lust and worldliness. And that fact that you’re Christian and having a “dream” to have girls come up to you for sex. It makes me even more sad. That people without God’s help and strength obviously have no hope. And what’s even worse is a weak person that gives in to pressure and even worse.
