Yeah, Arlecchino is a polearm user… which means while most are spears, scythes are a type of polearm so it’s much less weird than, say Navia, who is a claymore user that actually wields an axe as a signature weapon.

To me the voice in the beginning sounds like Arlecchino when she was a child. And seeing as it's the lines of a book in Genshin it makes sense that she might remember reading it as a child. More so sense it relates the curse.

Arlecchino is serving those Tokyo Ghoul vibes fr. The red wing, the murder, the red eyes, the image of her on a reflective lake with clouds and shit. Its the first thing that came to mind😂

The thing is... the children appearing and singing like that... is canonically possible, Arlecchino's flames aren't normal flames, anything they burn leaves behind a shadow of itself, and when she killed "Mother", she also destroyed a large portion of the House of Hearth. She literaly hangs out with small flame apparitions that are born from her dead children as they drive away the madness that threatens to engulf her.

Also I will say for Genshin going dark: so have you done Wriothesley's Story Quest yet 👀 I'm gonna guess no since you just redownloaded, but yeah I *would* give that a try sometime.

Another layer to how Father is raising these kids is while she's trying as hard as she can to *not* be like the previous director, we see again and again growing up in HotH means being shaped to treat yourself like a tool to be used however the fatui wants. The dying agent is on her literal deathbed and is still just focused on if she can do another mission. Arlecchino's waying of comforting her was finishing the mission for her, instead of any soothing to her. And family is everything to the children, but we have so many world quests about what happens if you dare dream of leaving. Really sticking Xiao, Childe, and the HotH cast in the room would be interesting. The former two's character arcs are all about how they see themselves as tools, and them either learning to treat themselves like a person more or failing that. And it seems we have similar themes going on with the House too.

I'm not sure who that voice was in the beginning, but to me, it sounds like Lynette may be her. All in all, this is one of the best, if not the best, demo genshin release so far

Love the reaction as always. This is part of the reason why Arlecchino quickly became my favorite. She brought such a huge tone shift to Genshin. Before, all the "evil" or "bad" people just felt like Disney villains. Especially Scaramouche and The Doctor. They tried to make them seem intimidating but I honestly couldn't hold back my laughter from the cringe. They actually nailed it with Arlecchino however and I'm certain it's mostly because of her ruthlessness and lack of emotion. In the teaser when she crushed that guy's skull, she didn't say a single word and hardly showed any emotion if any. She's such a mysterious character to top it off which is scary. You never know what she's thinking. Ugh can't wait.

She does care for her children but she's also the one training them to become assassins and spies at a young age. Morally questionable character and I love that for her

Though Genshin's rise in "darkness" was always going to be a slow burn, it's always been there under the surface. It's hard to talk about without spoiling anything specific (and even what I'm about to say may be considered a tad spoilery, I'm being as vague as possible) but those who've properly finished the desert world quests know what I'm talking about.

make sure to check if the scythe effect is the character's effect or the personal weapon's effect.

There was an in game book quietly added to the game recently. It describes a khanrieh hero and orphanage, and sort of an initiation rite involving a hearth and an eye. So there is a strong possibility the Fatui somehow continued this tradition from khanrieh. Oddly enough the khanrieh hero is book apparently changes gender pronouns in Chinese based on the players gender. Which seems significant, but it’s still a bit hard to connect to Aether/lumine. And it’s still not sure how anything connects to Arleccino or what her curse is. We will likely know soon though.

You need her signature weapon if you wanna use her signature artifact set on her. If i remember correctly wirhout the weapon the artifact set is useless. Well i'm positive to get her but not about her weapon, depends how early i will get her 🥺

Arlecchino is an interesting person, what is more evil? letting children die and starve, be abused or making them into child soldiers.

Nah, her killing a guy was not a bad thing to do, the real bad thing is she's taking these orphans to make them into children soldiers who can die any moment. Does she care about them? Probably, in her own twisted way. Will those homeless children from the teaser have better life at her orphanage than on the streets? Hard to say.
