Even the grandparents who were too young to have served in Nazi times, sometimes made comments that showed sympathy for the Nazi ideology or even Antisemitism. But rarely, because the consensus was to hide those sentiments and not to talk about that time. Germans know very well, when they have to halt die Klappe, be silent. And since the Wirtschaftswunder gave them anyway what the Nazis promised, a very high rank in the world, Exportweltmeister etc., it was comfortable enough to shut up. It's important to remember that while some families and company leaders might have been Nazis, not all were members because they wanted to be. Many were members because they feared for the lives of their families and I doubt many people today would behave in any other way.

You're free to open a company and become rich it you choose.
