Yeah, I know what you mean. One day before I retired, I was asked to go to a department in the factory to repair some faulty kit. It was a Saturday afternoon, so it was overtime and I didn't have to be there, and didn't particularly want to be either. The supervisor for some reason had a hissy fit at me (Perfectly normal behaviour for this guy) and told me to 'Fuck off'. As I turned away, he said "Where are you going now?" I said "I don't need telling twice, I'm fucking off". Overalls off, in the car, and home. I didn't take offence at all.

Vine is a little older than me, and growing up in the 70's at school, we had a saying, a very old saying, - "Sticks and stones may break my bones, But names will never hurt me." Now, I'm an old, retired, high functioning autistic guy, who suffered a lot with social anxiety and OCD when i was young, but I still went to a normal school, and worked hard all my life on building sites, etc, - but when the odd person would throw abuse, at me for being a little different, i never once took offence, I didn't give them that win, I just used it to my advantage, as a way to toughen myself up even more. I actually became quite cocky and quick witted, when I had to be. What happened to these people, who sue others at the drop of a hat, they really should now better, are they really, genuinely this weak and thin skinned, or are they just greedy, nasty, bad faith individuals? No win no fee was introduced by the John Major government in 1995. The intended purpose was to assist people who had suffered an accident or injury and could not afford legal representation. I remember thinking it was a bad idea at the time, good intentions notwithstanding. It rapidly turned into a racket. The idea that someone should be seriously financially threatened for calling Jeremy Vine a bike nonce is frankly ridiculous. It is evidence that the justice system is corrupt, imho.
