No. I never find baking chaotic or hectic. It is actually for me very relaxing and peaceful. Perhaps you both are just not used to baking very often. Like knitting, practice makes it easier and gives you confidence.

Please, please, please don’t stop doing your sit and knit podcasts! At least do one a month! You two have become “friends” and hearing you together is such a pleasure during all of this messy COVID stuff. You have no idea at all, the joy you being to so many people so far away from you…..it’s almost as if we are there with you in Norway(a place I will actually never be able to visit). Thank you both for all your wonderful efforts to entertain, inform and have fun with your KZfaq audience!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

When Arne said “I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer”, I had a good laugh. Arne, you are no different than any of us, none of us are perfect! I am very very sad to hear about greatly decreasing Sit and Knit - my favorite and I look so forward to them; I do understand why you are doing it, but I am broken hearted, nonetheless. 💕

Loved the podcast! “Smell and flames form the oven “ STORY… ..my sister-in-law hates to cook. Two years after building a beautiful new kitchen she decided to invite us for dinner. Turn on oven to achieve desired temperature…husband smells and says you are burning the dinner. She opens oven to see flames 🔥 it was the oven manual, warranty and the invoice were all on fire. Oven had not been open or used in two years. She will never live it down. 20 years go now.❤️🇨🇦❤️😂

🤭🤭🤭. On a slightly different note, I had a college friend who was learning to cook the summer before her wedding. She had a recipe that called for using a Dutch oven. She asked how could she know where her oven was made. 🤤. I'm sure we all have cooking stories we could share.

“That’s probably one….that’s probably two….that’s probably one-half,” says Arne The Magical Pastry Chef. These will turn out deliciously, we know, but I was reminded of a cartoon segment featuring Mr. Magoo making a cake. Among other things, he spontaneously added “light bulbs, because we want to make the cake light.” Happy 4th Sunday of Advent!

My oh my but did I laugh during this episode. C: "Oh! There's another message!" A: Yes it says "Your cookies are burning!" LOL C: "We are lousy bakers.... A: "We don't know how to bake, but we DO know how to eat. Besides, where they end up is not pretty anyway." Personally, I think you are both too hard on yourselves. On top of baking 2 types of cookies and sharing tight space, you were filming - not an easy feat. Yet you managed to do so for 4 weeks in a row. No wonder both of you are tired. Notwithstanding, I have enjoyed these cooking episodes so much, and I think I am not the only one. Bravi!!! 👏👏👏🥰💖

My mom was precise with her baking but her mother was like your grandma. She rarely measured with baking tools. She used the cap of the flavoring bottle, a real cup and the palm of her hand. You are reminding me of some nice memories. When I see you baking cookies, I think of my husband. The only cookies he ever made were Pillsbuty slice and bake. He was interested in making just the holiday ones. They are a log shaped dough preformed with a picture in the middle like Rudolph or Santa for Christmas. After he took them out of the oven, he would place them on a plate. They would end up as a stuck mass of cookies! He didn't have patience to let them cool on my wire rack. This didn't happen just once but every time! I kept quiet! Hope he isn't looking down and watching me spill this story! So glad you got an addition to your polar bear collection. He is so cute. When you change your video scheduling, I will expect 15 minutes × 4 weeks which will roughly equal atleast 5 hours a show! Do the math! I don't know how we spoiled children can take less of you. I have said it before, you make my day. Thanks for all the smiles and laughter you have given me/us! See you tomorrow for 15 minutes!😁😆😅🤣😂

Yet another fabulous episode! I love watching you bake & admire the way you can share a kitchen. Not always easy! Here's a baking tip for you: if you crumple the parchment paper before laying it out on the cookie sheet, it will lie flatter & make it easier to handle without the edges curling up. Some common sayings in Australia are “Not the sharpest tool in the shed”, “ A sandwich short of a picnic”, “(He/she/they) have a few Roos loose in the top paddock”, A few stubbies short of a 6 pack (or slab)” If I think of any more I’ll add them! Thanks for a fun episode and enjoy eating your baking 😀 I will miss the weekly sit’n’knit but I do feel like we have been spoilt with the daily advent videos. It has been such a treat to watch you each day during Advent. Change is good thou. Once a month would be wonderful for sit’n’knit if you can manage it.

As I watched your bake-a-thon today, two of our granddaughters were visiting. We have a Santa cap placed on the upper right corner of our television and when your KZfaq program began, five=year-old Josie said "Look! It's Santa Claus!" The Santa cap appeared to be atop Arnie's head. "No," her eight-year-old sister said. "That's some guy Granny Kate watches for knitting!" I jumped in, "Yes, Josie, that's Arne and his friend, Carlos." "Arne Claus?" Josie asked. I tried to explain that you were knitting friends but she insisted Arne was Santa Claus. When Carlos opened his gift, Josie exclaimed, "See! I told you! Santa Arne just gave his elf, Carlos, a present!" What next!

When the two of you are in the kitchen, so many of my family's Christmas memories come flooding back. Every year there were sugar cookies, thimble and molasses cookies, and peanut butter ones too. Now peanut butter cookies must have fork marks on top but well holiday baking can be hectic and the Mark's forgotten.....until after baking. Um, lovely puffed cookies get mashed with a fork! And at least one tray of cookies ends up on the floor fresh out of the oven, much to the glee of our dogs! So thank you for sharing the holiday baking fun with us. It's one of the best parts of Christmas!

When my children were young, we would bake Christmas cookies and they would have so much fun with the flour and rolling pin! We'd have flour all over the kitchen and kids and those are some of the best memories! We put holes in the cookies before baking so we could put string in them and hang them from the tree as ornaments. For some reason the tree didn't stay decorated very long.

You're not bad bakers just doing what you can. It's fun. I would try rolling Arne's cookies on the baking paper. Score your shapes and then break them apart after baking. Some things are frustrating. But the more you roll them the tougher they get. Love to Norway, you and your Freya and Helmer.

Not gonna lie, I will miss sit and knit for a bit every week. Hope you can do it monthly anyway. Still loving the advent calendar. What a great idea, so charming and thoughtful.

Thanks for another laugh- and cookie-filled session. I am in awe of your multitasking skills! Working so well as a team in your profession endeavors pays off in the kitchen -and seemingly in many if not all aspects of your life partnership.

Another comment about the Blemsnipper; like a pie dough...roll it cold, bake it hot. Chill the dough for easier rolling. Good Luck! Looks so good.

What a treat! I bet you are both relieved no more cookies for a while. Arne, I love how calm you are when things don't go exactly as planned. I like how you make a solution when things get sticky. Your cookies are amazing and the cookies made are not the easiest to bake.

I laughed out loud when you said that the recipe called for “a reasonable amount” of flour. On another podcast by a Norwegian knitter, she said that since knitting is taught in Norway in elementary school, a lot is assumed and they leave information out of a pattern. She said sometimes a pattern says “ an appropriate or a reasonable amount” of yarn or whatever.

I've really enjoyed watching your Advent Sunday podcasts. Next year I'm going to make the cookies you've generously shared with us. During the summer I like to make sugar cookie dough and freeze it in a tube shape. In December all I need to do is defrost, cut, and bake. You might be able to freeze the dough for some of your recipes. The "down side" is the temptation to bake cookies year round. 🙂

Yes, it’s always chaos on the kitchen when there is more than 1 baker. Your cookies looked delicious! Thank you for all you’ve done this year, it’s been so much fun watching your videos and learning from, and with, you!

I agree Arne, you are so good! The cookies today were very fun! I think if I were trying to bake and film at the same time it would be chaotic. My one tip for baking is, according to the experts, baking measurements need to be exact. Cooking you have more opportunity to do what you please, but they say baking is more of a chemistry and needs to have exact measurements. I think that Arne would like to make spritz cookies with the cookie press. He would be "so good at that!" 😀 Spritz cookies are fun to do and they taste very good. I'm sad to hear there will be less "Sit and Knit for a Bit" in 2022. I will miss it, A LOT!!! Maybe you will take pity on your viewers and change your mind and keep sit and knit more often??!

Love these videos…even in the chaos. They’re so real and authentic and funny. I concur with Arne’s comment about his baking…My baking motto is “as long as it tastes good, it doesn’t matter if it’s ugly” 😂👍 . Merry Christmas to you all and looking forward to seeing you next year!
