These 2 are off the charts with chemistry!! WOW!!

This was one of my favorite scenes ever. She sounded so grown up here. I love them to peices and probably always will.

I love how she gets the butter for him... she knows what he needs even if he doesn't!

Anthony Geary and Genie Francis not only had the best chemistry of any couple on the small screen or big screen, but these scenes are awesome themselves!!!

Yeah, they are both amazing... and together even more than that. They have so many fantastic scenes, but his is definitely a stand out. They do emotionally charged like no other couple in daytime history!

Such a powerful, POWERFUL scene. These two are pure GOLD together.

This scene has to be among one of the top ten scenes in TV history. It is brilliant in every way. TG once said in an interview that he fed off of Genie like a parasite and she replied, I fed off of Tony in the same way and that's why it works...well by God this scene proves it.

One of my fave scenes as well. Without even speaking their eyes tell the story. When he tells her it's over you can see her pain. Just makes the story so believable.

I am now watching the Prometheus Disk episodes and I seem to come back to this particular scene with Luke and Laura and I must say I don't think TG has ever looked so sweet and vulnerable than he did at 1:44-1:47...

The prince Scott Baldwin. Luke was the ultimate smart azz. I love it. Seriously the intensity here is off the charts.Its easy to see both sides.

It's no wonder I used to fake illness to stay home from school so I could watch GH! This was some good stuff! Sussezq, thanks for giving us our Luke and Laura back. You are my hero!

Wow, such a powerful scene between Luke and Laura. So intense and feeling the emotions from both characters. So wanting them to kiss and make up but then the GH writers would have not blessed us with the 'stuck apartment door' days, which were so much fun. :-) Tony Geary and Genie Francis are true MAGIC together!

I think Laura doesn't quite get why Luke is so hurt. She knows it is betrayal but she doesn't understand all that goes into his sense of betrayal. For him it's this sense that she "went slumming" for the summer (to use a phrase from Dirty Dancing) and that once it was over she went running back to the world of Lawyers and Doctors and left the boy from Elm Street behind so his dirty, hungry, slum-living self wouldn't taint her perfect image. That's the betrayal that is so deep it causes him not to trust her. It's why he was ready to just toss in the towel and go to prison or take a chance on getting shot. He feels that because (in his mind) she so casually tossed him aside like a dirty little secret, that he isn't worth anything and he never will be. Words alone won't fix that. Laura has her work cut out for her. Laura on the other hand has her own problems. She was never the same after Leslie showed up and took a wrecking ball to her happy home life with the Vinings. That was Laura's reality and she felt safe in it until Leslie showed up and she found out that none of it was true. Leslie took her but Laura got sick and they told Leslie it was because she had taken her from the Vinings so she took her back but the damage was done. Laura went from perfect daughter to troubled daughter from then on. She got in trouble, ran away and joined a cult. Leslie found out and went to get her. But you have to remember that Leslie's husband didn't want Laura and didn't want Leslie to go get her. Laura's own father didn't want her because she was the product of a secret affair with his student. She felt she didn't belong anywhere and that's why she's so clingy and needy with Rick and Leslie. Once Rick comes along she calls him dad and wants his marriage with Leslie perfect because it ruins her foundation if it falls apart. It's all she has to give her self worth. Then she meets David Hamilton and thinks she is in love with him but he uses her because he wanted Leslie and Leslie rebuffed him. When he told Laura, she shoved him and he hit his head and died. So she just forgot it and let her mother go to jail. Then she ran. Scotty had to go get her and make her face up to it to save her mom. Then she married Scotty thinking he will give her love and security she wants but it's a facade and he starts to talk down to her and treat her like a father would (something Scotty admits in these clips). Luke from the start is the only one that treats her completely like an adult. He has a different kind of belief in her and it allows her to see herself in that light. The summer on the run just proves to her that she can survive and that someone will stick with her and love her through the worst of things. But when she's confronted and torn away from him, she folds. She's not quite where she needs to be...yet. She found her spine but now she has to prove to him and to herself that it's made of steel and not a limp noodle.

I think this video shows Luke in one of the best looks he has. That scruff looks so cute on him LOVE this scene...again :-)

Luke and Laura changed daytime television for the good.

The writing is brilliant. It is completely believable that Laura would have cracked under the pressure at the press conference, and just as believable that Luke would crack from her betrayal. What an ingenious way to keep the cat and mouse game going between them, now with Laura as the pursuer. And Genie and Tony are just radiant and multi-dimensional in all their emotions. I remember watching this back in the day, but only up until Laura's exit in 1983. I am almost afraid to see what the writers have done to this amazing couple after that time period! But I am going to watch all of the videos.

Love this scene in Kelly’s kitchen. Also love the one where Laura’s eating fries off a plate Luke prepared for a customer-she eats when she worries. Can’t remember when it was though.

Hey Sus. Here I am after all these years. I just can't let go of LoL. TG has retired but Genie is on her way back to GH but there will never be a love story like Luke and Laura. There were magical. Still wish we could have one last love scene with these two. That would be the Best ending.

These characters are both FIERCE!!! Genie Francis and Anthony Geary together as Luke and Laura are INSANELY entertaining... whether they are making us laugh, cry, scream, shutter.....Geez, there are no current GH characters that are ANYTHING like the old great ones ( that were so well developed over time) !!!!! I wish character was more important than plot on current day GH.

Wait a minute Laura! You fall in love and run off with another man and yet you think you were faithful until you slept with him? You can't justify it that way. Add that to Luke's own issues and it makes his disbelief perfect. Great scene!

This was one of my fave episodes. Literally, Laura is growing up and at that time, you didn't know if things would work out for them. As an adult, great writing and great TV! Loved every minute of it. It actually stressed me out back then and I was 13!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

C'mon Luke stop being selfish ! Forgive her ! You've put Laura through alot up to this point. She wasn't mentally tough yet .

He was so manly & perfect back then. I really think they loved each other to some degree. The writers so screwed up their characters.

One of my fav scenes...Laura grows up and you see signs of a real Spencer and Genie is becoming one of the best actress's on daytime. I read alot of comments about how TG needs GF to be the best, but like JJ and tons of others have said.....WORKING WITH TG MAKES YOU THE BEST!!!

Laura was so honest about her inability to deal with the PTSD from the reporters ...and the Trauma in her past. She brought it up several times. Luke chose to ignore what she was saying and insisted she could just stiff upper lip it now that she is "Mrs. Luke Spencer". She told him she needed his hands to hold hers, she needed him next to her for strength but they got separated and she freaked out. WHY doesn't Luke hold himself accountable for NOT being there when she needed him??? It's his own damn fault in my opinion. He is older than her and should know better but he chooses to drown in his own insecurity instead of being a man and looking at the situation realistically. One other thing is that Luke does not understand AT ALL the scarlet letter women bear and the shame associated with it. She keeps talking about being called a tramp and he doesn't understand on a fundamental level what this means to Laura and what a big deal it is. He almost rolls his eyes when she brings it up. I love Luke but he needs to own this.

Granted Luke was always paranoid, always over protective, especially of his own feelings... seems in character for a child who was abandoned in the way he was to me. What I always thought incredible about this time in the writing is that the motivation of the characters were so evident.That we knew them and their history so well that the decisions that they made(though perhaps not the decisions that WE would have made in the same situation)made sense, and were relevant in the context of "them".

Yep.. for a while!! Some of them already know the term " the Sticky Door Era"... but to watch more than a clip here and there should be good. I HOPE. It also sets up the whole Ice Princess thing almost from the beginning.

I loved TG and GF together. No other couple ever on daytime compares to their Chemistry, it was dynamite. I’m not looking forward to the late 90’s and 2000 shows, I hate to see how the writers will have changed their characters. TG has just retired from GH, wouldn’t it be just wonderful if he returned for a brief time to complete their relationship back to the good old days and then they both walk off into the sunset. I’d be overjoyed with that. This is the ending I want

Painful scene

It's a small town. Like she wasn't going to find out where he was working lol I giggle at that. "Who told you...." One of the most powerful scenes ever. I think because so many of us really can relate to it. That is amazing acting. Sometimes I wondered if TG really was acting!!........lol I'm almost surprised JF took these scenes with his wife so well, given she literally grew up with TG on the set. GF and JF have a strong marriage I would say. And L n L had a lifetime darn near of a love story that didn't seem like acting most times : ) Speaking of "faithful"..........what did that mean in their minds? (the writers) sex? I guess so.....Idk maybe it's just me but all of the passionate kissing and the I love you's; I would def. leave my spouse as THAT is unfaithful. What is in the MIND and heart is unfaithful, not just consummation. JMO.......don't get me wrong, the story worked, I am speaking in realistic terms. Luke n Laura are forever. They are in all of OUR "Halls of Fame"!!!!

I felt Luke was more angry with himself than Laura. He never thought he was good enough for Laura. 😢

Well then again, I am glad I stayed up to post it. I really wanted to share this particular scene. I agree, it had to be like this, it actually makes you realize how much Laura really does love Luke and how much she wanted him. That it was a BIG deal to go against her word/ her marriage vows. It makes the vows when she says them to Luke even more real.... it actually even makes the whole travesty this Nov. make more sense... Laura respects marriage vows.. even if they are Luke's to Tracy!! UGH!!

Laura is right. if only they had waited one more day then she would have felt better about facing the reporters and her family. Luke didn't make it any easier for her either.

I know I already posted 4x; some of it nonsense lol. And I am sorry as I will get a little detailed here. It's about being unfaithful. What do people consider being faithful. Luke says to her about being 'a pure and virtuous wife'. She lost that the fist real passionate kiss they had. Although I do not agree with emotional/mental affairs, defining "unfaithful" is different in everyone's opinion. I think it starts in the mind. However, that real "kiss" was the deal breaker. In this era; any kind of physical contact should be considered cheating, but, MANY men still think actual intercourse only would be unfaithful. That's how it was on the soaps back then too. I would consider myself respectful today if my ex called me only a tramp.....lol

I am so impressed on how they wrote this story. Waiting for The Walls to come down all summer. But for Laura to be able to say.. if they had only had waited one more night her conscience would have been clear coming back. It shows that marriage and it's vows are written as important and gives the characters integrety. It just makes the depth of these charactors and their future better. If I had to pick a favorite, I would pick this whole scene!

Why O why the pancake makeup?? Genie had gorgeous skin!! Sometimes her gestures and voice remind me of a famous talented actress decades before her, Jean Arthur, born 1900. Check her bio and photos out, even her cheekbones are identical.

Luke can have his stubble when he and Laura aren't "together" because he isn't going to be kissing her. She won't let him kiss her unless he is shaven. Well, not until 1984 when his beard is full grown that is.

Well then I am really glad I stayed awake bleary eyed and all to get to this particular part. I agree. Thought it was amazing... and watching some of this (I am ahead by a few hours)... makes me realize they could not have it end in Nov. any way but the way they did... because the ratings are all in L&L GETTING together... I didn't want to be gyped with that.... Don't want GF back for 3 weeks to take TG off screen... I want to watch the whole thing.. I so hope we get that!!!!!!
