Hi Ghib Ojisan! The baby on the Popo Murukku was selected by the inventor because it served as a reminder for him to work hard for his firstborn son and family!
@kendrictan8209
@kendrictan8209 Жыл бұрын
Regarding Popo and the Baby Logo, here's what I found: The Popo Muruku business was born from one simple idea - to make the most delicious snack, loved by all. Loads of sweat and tears were put in by the founding father Foong Chek Lung (Dad) to re-invent a traditional Indian snack. Foong Chek Lung started experimenting Muruku recipes only with the use of a frying wok, a rectangular cutter and his bare hands to bring a twist to the well-loved tidbit. After countless hours and sleepless nights, and with a stroke of luck, the ideal recipe was formulated using an array of spices and seasoning. Even the iconic Popo baby on the old-school red and white packaging were the result of his effortless design concept. Foong Chek Lung had chosen a baby logo because it served as a reminder for him to work hard for his firstborn son and family. And the name “Popo” (or “Baobao” in mandarin) which literally meant “my baby” was catchy and easily recalled by many customers. Till this day, he is still working tirelessly to expand and innovate the Popo Muruku’s line of products. Today, we take the opportunity to thank the founding father of Popo Muruku, for his dedication, not only to his customers, but also to his family. And we also wish to mention to all loving Fathers, who have also tirelessly worked hard to provide for their families, a big Thank You. Without Dad, there will be no POPO.

You are missing out the small button biscuits with the colourful icing tops. There's also this big round thin light colourful waffle-like biscuits. Loved how your friends loved some of the snacks.😊

Some of those snacks are really old from over 40 years ago, which others are relatively new. For example, if salted egg fish skin is your childhood snack, I guess you are probably still a child. While stuff like the white rabbit candy or the fish satay were around for much longer. There are quite a few other snacks, but some are no longer available or very difficult to find in Singapore. Love how the Japanese are brutally honest with their reactions. ;)

Prawn rolls are a sore throat waiting to happen. Once you start, you cant stop. And then you usually end up with a sore throat afterwards due to heatiness because you didn't drink enough water. Happens after every Chinese New Year. Little context. We stock up on snacks to serve the visiting relatives and friends during Chinese New Year and prawn rolls are a must.

as a singaporean who grew up in the 2000s, i love some childhood snacks shown and there are some i have never seen/heard and a few that i really didn’t like, like the haw flakes and probably the durian snack (i never tried it but i hate durian so haha, sgreans either love or hate durian and im the latter). other than that, it was great to see japanese’ reaction to our childhood snacks and that they love it too! personally, im not a fan of seafood and i can,t take spicy food, but i love salty food which is quite different from how you described singaporeans (which could be just a stereotype, majority or the general public of singaporeans, maybe im just weird haha)
