When GB 2016 came out I was so disappointed I wrote my own version. I'm happy they finally seem to be doing it right. But here's what I wrote before I knew this would happen. Also expecting most if not all comments to be negative if any, so enjoy. Ghostbusters 3 movie treatment: Our new Ghostbusters isn't a reboot but a sequel. Our central protagonist is a young college-age girl who is a fumbling, unsuccessful but avid science enthusiast, which she inherited in part from her father - Egon Spengler (as played by Harold Ramis). Her father died a disgraced professor of science, chased out of the field, and shunned when his previous occupation as a Ghostbuster was uncovered. The long since disbanded group due to claims of fraud was now seen as a crew of scamming hucksters. Although she loved her father, she too saw him as someone who ran a con and may have suffered from mental illness which brought her great shame and disavowal. But one day, she has a paranormal experience of her own and has the revelation that her father may not have been the insane man everyone had convinced her of after all. So she ventures to seek out his old colleagues, Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Winston (Ernie Hudson), and Janine (Annie Potts). Eventually, she finds them and they reveal that it was all true. The paranormal accounts actually took place. And her father was never crazy. He was a genuine scientist and virtuous soul just trying to help others all along. Now attempting to not only redeem her father's name but to fight ghosts. And only able to convince Ray out of the original GB to join her as a reluctant, highly skeptical, half-hearted mentor; she forms a new team of ghostbusters comprised of a dysfunctional band of her community college loser classmates, local vinyl store, and cannabis/coffee shop loitering friends (think Sam Rockwell, Donald Glover, Steve Carell, Jordan Peele, John C. Reilly, Ken Jeong, Dave Chappelle, Robert Smigel, Sacha Baron Cohen, James Franco, Kal Penn, John Cho, Michael Cera, Tina Fey, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, etc.) They battle ghosts with varying degrees of success, comedy, and horror for the last third of the film building up to a face-off with the main antagonist who is responsible for the recent rash of supernatural spectral attacks and who, in effort to raise a vast transdimensional spirit army, is on the precipice of obtaining the final key to unlock the power of turning all beings into the undead. In the climax, the Ghostbusters are outmatched and defeated; overwhelmed by our powerful foe's swarm of dead minions. On the verge of losing everything, including not only their lives but the lives of all conscious, sentient life forms as they once existed, they're rendered hopeless. Our heroine is forced to watch her friends become incapacitated one by one, some of whom may be mortally wounded if not dead already. In an attempt to cease the killing she pleads, " Please! ", " Please stop it! ", " Make it stop! ", " Just STOP! " through shrill, helpless guttural screams and tears streaming down her face. Shell-shocked, she looks around at the decimation in despondent desperation and can only utter the words "No" and "I'm sorry" meekly to herself over and over through her shuttering breath. She seeks forgiveness from her friends, humanity, and from her father - for failing him, for doubting, or for ever making him believe that she didn't always love him. She is trembling. And completely broken. All is lost. She tearfully closes her eyes, shattered, accepting her impending death and transition into the spirit horde at the hands of our terrifying menace. Then suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, from off-frame.....a familiar voice * our heroine and head bad both snapping their attention to it. Shot remains on them through his dialogue * " You know......a good friend of mine .....once told me....to never...ever.....ever.....cross the streams. " * heroine and nemesis' eyes widen. Mouths fall agape in unison * Cut to ground level shot: a pair of wide standing boots. Shot dollies up - reveal - Venkman (as played by Bill Murray) continuing, " But what we're about to do to you ".....(readying the weapon that was resting on his shoulder)......" is going to be a helllllll of a whole lot worse......" ....." Ain't that right? " * Shot pulls to wide * one by one emerging from behind him steps; Ray Stantz, saying, " I must concur. "; Winston in agreement saying, " Oooo yeah (through his toothpick)."; and Janine declaring, " Your ass is mine." A restored and upgraded Ecto-1 decked out in new tech glistening behind them. Then from behind our unretired gang, steps out our next-gen Ghostbusters who have reassembled - beat up, bloodied, and hobbled but with a new resolve. The old Ghostbusters guard stands formidably together wearing matching thick brown long coats w/ wool lining and collars popped, GB logos on their shoulders and name patches on their chests, combat boots, black military pants, and high necked stealth black tops. They're armed to the teeth with their classic proton packs along w/ new smaller weapons and devices strapped to their arms and legs - a trademark of the new GB. They ignite their old proton packs in unison. The signature powering up pitch piercing through the apocalyptic, death-filled air. Venkman winces and cocks his head to the side, "God, I have reallllyy missed that sound." * with a grin he pauses to look at a few members of his paranormal opposition; at times nodding, winking, and mouthing the words " hello " or " thank you " to some, feigning exchanged pleasantries *. Before bellowing, "Alright............HIT IT!" as the entire newly formed GB brigade starts blasting away at their adversaries on cue. The big bad losing his grip on our main protagonist who slips away to regroup. The old Ghostbusters fight valiantly alongside the new Ghostbusters with a purpose, capability, and strength they hadn't shown and didn't even know they still had, in many years. At the battle's zenith, a new super-tech weapon is rolled out - a mini hadron collider. The subject of our lead's failed college thesis. A project fished out of her trash pile by Ray Stantz and finally proven viable (and possibly life-saving) w/ Ray using rediscovered lost notes, a dissertation, and the unpublished, rejected books of one other scientist - her father, Dr. Egon Spengler. It had been an endeavor Stantz had encouraged her to complete for quite some time. But when she refused and made it abundantly clear that she would never, Ray had taken up the slack and worked on it secretly ever since with the guidance of her father - whose own work would never have been fully realized w/o the accomplishments of his daughter. Or his dear friend and our lead's Godparent Ray serving as their conduit. Now when combined with its remotely activated full-sized particle accelerator counterpart (located many miles away), the mini hadron collider opens a portal in which to vanquish our threat into another dimension. Upon their duo activation and a bit more fight, including by some very last minute unexpected heroics from a newly roof-mounted mega proton gun on the now A.I. powered, autonomous, ghost obliterating Ecto-1, our founding GB alongside the next generation defeat the villain and his legion with our lead delivering the final death blow. In dramatic fashion, her once failed life's work finally activating just in the nick of time saving all of existence. Now back at home, for the first time since her childhood w/ her father, our heroine is happy and content. She finishes rehanging one last photo of him that she had taken down long ago. At the bottom it reads " Dr. Egon Spengler - a.k.a Dad ". The framed image of a regal Harold Ramis looking back at the audience. * Score - reflective and resonant, penetrating piano/guitar; building. Then lifted by swelling strings. Shot pulls out * surrounding the central picture are photos of Egon's many life accomplishments. Interspersed with career highlights in academia and with the GB are his achievements as a father. Amongst the remembrances are real pictures of Harold Ramis throughout his life and Ramis as a father raising his actual daughter. * Symphonic score transitions to triumphant and sweeping * Images of a proud father and his daughter at various stages of her growth - her birth, 1st steps, adolescence, graduations, etc. Then an exuberant little girl with an unbridled smile conducting different science experiments; wearing an oversized lab coat much too big for her, growing into it over the years through a progression of pictures. A doting, proud scientist father right beside her in each. In each image, he is beaming with pride and love. In each, capsules of heartfelt, unyielding affection. With the threat vanquished, the Ghostbusters vindicated, redeemed, and revived. Her father's name now celebrated and restored to its rightful place in academic halls, scientific literature, and history. And the newly christened " Spengler Collider " one of the most significant and advanced scientific triumphs now celebrated by the world, she retires to her newfound life amongst her gang of no longer loser friends. There's also a short clip I don't think you guys have seen where Podcast and the kid whose name I forget are testing out the Proton Pack. It's a quick scene but it's fun and I hope that's the tone they're going with because it rides that line between taking this stuff seriously but also it's basically a nuclear bomb and whatever.

I really have so many comments about how much I can't wait for this movie, how great the trailer is, and how much I love your reaction... HOWEVER the only thing I can think about is how amazing Adam looks in with is No Shave November stubble!

Hi guys. First of all, I’m a huge fan of your KZfaq channel which I really enjoy each video reactions you both make. My thoughts: I’m 💯% sure that on the end of this trailer, them 3 are definitely the original OG’S. Why I’m so sure? Well the one of the right end, you can clearly see ERNIE HUDSON’S hand.

It's been long announced that most of the original cast is returning (Rick Moranis is the only unannounced, but I'm hoping for a secret cameo). Bill Murray even spoke in an interview about how putting the heavy proton pack back on for shooting was rather painful this go around.

I love the progress. First trailer we don't know what's happening, second we get it but want more, third one is upfront and ready... then this one is just hey, look here's what you want come see the move in theaters... please.

I know there are cameos from basically everyone still alive, the ones with the most screen time have already revealed, Dan Ackroyd, Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson. As for people like Bill and Sigourney, time will tell.

I'm just gonna put it out there...a deep fake ghost COULD work. Have it looking all phantasmal and ectoplasm-y. It would probably cut down on the likelihood of it looking weird. Also, can't wait! My cousin and I are going to see this right after Thanksgiving dinner. Keeping our tradition alive that we started doing each year with every Star Wars movie over the past few years.

Something they might do is a haunted house thing. Have doors mysteriously open or things fall over, and imply that it's Egon leading them to the equipment. Not all ghosts take a full form. Also, don't forget that when John Belushi died, they decided to base the hotel ghost off of him, and that gave us Slimer.

Well, it *IS* called Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Just imagine: it’s near the end of the movie, the characters are losing hope and suddenly ghost Spengler appears to comfort his granddaughter Phoebe (the main girl). She’s like “I can’t do this grandpa” and he says “of course you can. Why do you think I left you this house? You’re a Spengler. You got this.” He gives a warm smile and vanishes in a puff of smoke. She gathers her courage and does that amazing “girl standing up scene” from Captain Marvel, and proceeds to wreck shop and defeat the villain.

I am frankly amazed (and mildly impressed) that you didn't know the OG's were going to be in this in their suits. How did that not already get spoilt for you? 😀
