Pretty sweet Acoustic, I do wish Gibson would bring a Gibson showroom to San Diego! 🙌🏻🎸

This Player Port is a feature that should have been on every acoustic guitar from the beginning.

I've played a lot of different acoustic guitars (Martin, Taylor, Gibson), and I've sold most of them. Recently (1 or 2 years) ago I got a used Alhambra from early 2000s and the first owner removed all the electronics because they were not working. So without the pickup controls, I now have a sound port I guess... All I have to say is that it sounds amazing... It's my number one acoustic.

Just a few thoughts. If the neck and playability feels like other Gibsons, then the wood selection becomes personal preference b/c one would forget about it while playing. The sound port can become a location for accesories. A lapel mic could be easily run out of the hole and planted above the upper frets à la Billy Strings. I could see a silicone port plug employed to host everything from humidifiers to micro effects or battery packs. Changing the 9V out of my J45 is currently a PIA but guess what? I play that guitar the most. I always wanted a 00 parlor guitar for backpacking around but they all sound thin. Maybe the porting helps on the G-00?

Can't think why i'd want a sound port on an acoustic guitar
@johnmorrell2 жыл бұрын
just wait till you try it with and without. Just as someone else commented, I took my electronics out of a Aria classical guitar which gave me an unintentional 'soundport'. Now I hear what you hear, and that make playing tons better.

Gibson working hard to make a guitar that the workingman can actually afford.

I love Gibson and own Les Pauls BUT.... Michael Kelly Guitars has been selling acoustics with this design for years. They also look great and the models range in price from $299 to $649.

I am happy that Cesar is the new head of Gibson. However, I wish he let someone else be the brand ambassador.

yeah, Michael Kelly's have been like that for years plus $500 to $1000 less impact on the wallet

They player port sounds a little more bassy through a mic. Personally I like the traditional hole sound better because you can hear more of the string attack. I guess you have you come up with new gimmicks every once in awhile to stay relevant.
@janmichaeljablonsky98472 жыл бұрын
They continue to talk about the sound port; like a broken record. It's as if the tone and playability are irrelevant. Even if it's more than a gimmick, you have to emphasize other aspects of the instrument. Gibson doesn't seem to realize this.

We did this to a cheap guitar a few years ago and its suprising how much louder it seems

I love Gibson acoustics. I have a J45 that is fantastic! But these sound like ass. Maybe strings too new? The Jumbo was half decent I guess

G45 sounded worst. 1st and last sounded best.

Gibson is really out pimping their new guitars. There being reviewed on most of the YT channels I watch. But I don't see anything different from a lot of their guitars, where they make a guitar of lessors woods and features, but still charge more then much better options of other brands out there of the same woods and features. And this series doesn't sound very good. Not for the price. For $300, maybe.
@Max_942 жыл бұрын
that's just idiotic dude hahahaha. $300? I guess you prefer chinese plywood guitars or overpriced plastic martins or overhyped bolt-on plywood taylors
@yanossnicklefritz70642 жыл бұрын
@@Max_94 Well opinions are like... everyone's got one. You too.. But actually at this point if I was to spend that amount, though I normally spend more, but for a thousand, I would buy a Yamaha LL16 which would spank that Gibson like the red headed stepchild it is. Or a Taylor 214. Which would also. And both have better craftsmanship, and sound well beyond that Gibson with an extra hole in it. And if you wouldn't, then the actual idiot is you. Of course, that wouldn't be surprising.

Dude you’re flat out wrong. This series is made in America with quality woods, go to a guitar center and check it out for yourself challenge you find a better sounding and made guitar for that price. I did and the G 45 was the best in the room.

They all sound like Taylor's to me. Tinny mid's, none of that Gibson full mid/bass.

"Gibson has always been about accessibility"... BULLSHXT!!! Gibson has ALWAYS been an ELITIST brand, with prices being SO high that their instruments are considered STATUS SYMBOLS! SQUIER has ALWAYS been about accessibility... ANYONE can afford them... Not just doctors, lawyers, and other Corksniffers...
