Gilbert dropping that 60 against the lakers will forever be the highlight of his career. Now he’s saying kobe had a problem guarding him. 11 of the 16 games he played against Kobe he shot 40% or worse. A lot of 9-29, 10-26, 5-15 type of games
@tank4ever

That had nothing to do with him Kobe stopping him, he was not a great 3pt shooter & he shot too many of them. He shot around 50% from inside the arc.
@tank4ever

@@ahjrome Or I literally just went to statmuse to look up his numbers vs the Lakers & saw that he shot 32% from 3FG with 108 attempts & subtracted it from his overall numbers to see that his 2FG% was 46%. And that is actually the opposite of my argument, the defense may have forced him into some bad shots, but he's a volume shooter, who was going to take some of those shots regardless. Why is Hakeem olajuwon arguably the most skilled player of all time and he played in the 90s? Kobe was drafted in 96. KG,Iverson,grant hill, Shaq , Karl Malone, pippen,ray Allen, penny Hardaway, Vince carter they all played in the 90s. Tim Hardaway was the one of the players that revolutionized the crossover dribble brand of basketball. Also a 90s NBA guy

Gary Payton was the premier scoring point guard in the league in the mid 90s to early 2000s while being the best defensive point guard as well. He didn’t have the handle or layup package of a Kyrie or Steph but he used to cook in the post and mid range while locking up guys that were usually his size or bigger on a nightly basis hence 9 straight all defensive 1st teams and 9 all nba teams

@@christophermoody6840 how many players do you think averaged over 20 points for 12 years?🤔 mate that’s not easy and most even all star caliber players can’t average 20 or more for that long. Arenas was elite for a short period of time but he was still an elite player in the nba.

he had a span off 6 years when he scored more then 20 points per gam eand dude was at like 40 % FG. the fuck is he talkin about...if you first option is scoring 30 on 42 % then you ain't going nowhere as a team and that's what Areans was.

@@breadbreadman9589 Still mostly rim protectors have won DPOY. Jaren Jackson Jr. won it this year, and Brook Lopez was runner-up. The voters seem to favor rim protectors over perimeter defenders. Gary Payton and Marcus Smart are the only two point guards to win DPOY.
