Our lives are jam packed these days - and so are our minds. From worries and to-do lists to simply thoughts about work and home, our brains are so jumbled there is no room for what’s necessary, let alone creativity. bit.ly/2LmRqHS
When we allow “stuff” to clog our brain power, we lose clarity and focus; and that results in lost opportunity. You must do your best to avoid this, and clear you mind for success and happiness.
The best way to give yourself more mental clarity is to have a plan. Download my FREE Personal Development Plan Template by clicking the link above!
“You are positive, creative, and happy to the degree to which you eliminate negative emotions from your life.” - Brian Tracy (Click to Tweet: ctt.ac/KDbe6)

I first saw Brian on stage when I was in my twenties. I was working my way through college by doing direct sales. My sales manager had encouraged me to attend his event. I was mesmerized by his stage presence and his message that my success was determined by me and me alone. Within 6 months, I became the highest paid salesperson in my group. Despite the many hardships in my life, Brian has been my mentor through his books and audio. I believe the best is yet to come and that life is an exciting journey. I still purchase his audio and follow his teachings.

I have a notebook on my cellphone with over 1,000 positive phrases that I think about and write down every day. Those positive thoughts are the firsts ones I read every morning and I reflect about them helping me to get my day started. I call it ''my bible''.

When I find myself doing negative self talk,I counter it with positive self talk.Hard,but simple and effective.Its a constant battle but one we all must fight.
@dianarosalindland1566
@dianarosalindland1566 3 жыл бұрын
@Liberal Larry - One thing I've discovered is that typical affirmations and that countering technique you describe, are not very effective for those of us with PTSD (either simple or complex). That is because the oppositional dynamic of "no I'm not!" / "yes you are!" is acutely familiar to anyone who's been traumatized by gaslighting. So for example, my personality disordered relatives have a tendency to alter recollections of past events to suit an agenda, usually to not make them look bad and avoid admitting some shitty behavior. So it can take the form of them just changing some not so important details at first, like what time you ate at, and then before you know it, they've just completely altered the whole chronology of events! This is important, because especially when trying to untangle the kinds of bizarre arguments one gets into with Cluster B personality disorder people, the exact sequence of what occurred is absolutely crucial. So, I've spent a lot of my time (until I stopped bothering) having insane arguments with relatives insisting on some dumb detail of an event that they're getting wrong, because I never know where it's going to lead. I know that I can't give an inch and must refuse to even consider that I might have been wearing green shoes or whatever, because it's a slippery slope and ultimately their objective is to get me to agree to a falsehood. So my point is that if my interior dialogue says something negative like "I'm an idiot" and then my affirmation training chips in with "no I'm not! I'm great!" or whatever this is a recreation of that denial / insistence endless circle I experienced when resisting gaslighting attempts. When you said "it is a constant battle", that is exactly right. However, it's very exhausting to engage in that back and forth. My research led me to Neuro Linguistic Programming and how people with (C)PTSD have to be a bit craftier with the affirmations and trick their mind by using very convoluted syntax that disengages that argumentative thing. Example: Inner voice say's "I'm an idiot!". Response goes: "I know that I know that that negative thought is just an old reflex habit that stems from my trauma and lack of self-belief and I know that I know that I can change that self-belief" - and so on. For some reason just that phrase "I know that I know" does something to the brain where it de-personalizes it and then when you go on to dissect what is actually happening cognitively it dis-empowers the negative thought and you stop going round and round. I'm probably not explaining it very well but Richard Grannon (the Spartan Life Coach) has some videos on it if you search him plus "blue belt affirmations" or you can write to his channel. I have tried it and it is amazing how quickly it diffuses the negative thought that usually I would just be getting into an argument with myself over and exhausting myself with the battle. So, I have no idea what your background is or if you would have a reason to have PTSD, which could be from family of origin, or military service, or surviving an intense accident, or witnessing a suicide or any number of things. Being a child or parent of of or in romantic relationships with someone with Cluster B personality disorders can definitely create Complex PTSD. If any of this "shoe" fits, then maybe check out the NLP style affirmations and definitely give Richard Grannon a look in. Best of luck!

I know myself for being very negative. It's ironic because I always try to encourage people but it's harder for me to do it with myself. I've started last week with the expresions 'I like myself' and 'I can do this' (I say them in english although i'm argentinian and live here) and it's amazing the impact they've had in the inner me. Thank you so much Brian 😊👍 hope I can be so positive that finish enlightening the lives of the people around me.
