Finn knew exactly what Kurt went through when he came out. But Santana didn’t get to come out herself because Finn forced her out of the closet. Yes, Santana roasted the hell out of him right there , but Finn went right for the jugular and let everyone know her biggest secret. I say everything that happened to Finn after was completely just.

@@102LoveDove Not a victim? Tell you what happens if you are born in a religious family, you could get disowned, attacked or sent to conversion therapy. And if you are the only one out in the school, you get bullied or expelled. Santana was literally disowned by her grandmother who said there is no acceptance or understanding. Santana was told off by another student for being a lesbo and all that can be changed. One can simply choose to ignore the harsh words of others or prove them wrong or even inform the principal. They can just be expelled or face dismissal for a short period.

@@Noa...... I understand that not being out is a serious thing, I do. I just don't agree with you that bullying is somehow less of a thing. People commit suicide, people go on drugs, people grow to become abusive, insecure, feeling unlovable and again dyinggg. So yea its just as big of an issue to emotionally attack someone as a human as it is to reveal sexuality and her having this issue does not nullify her bullying. Like you said there were many other ways that Santana could have handled her feelings but she didn't, she bullied people and then Finn snapped one time after taking it for years so he's really not all to blame.

I literally created an actual account just to say this, but BOTH Finn and Santana were in the wrong here. What Santana said was horrible and I think she deserved to hear what Finn said to her. What Finn shouldn't have done however was say it out loud in a public hallway, in a place he know has extremely homophobic kids. If they were by themselves or in Glee club, I would be all for Finn calling her out like that. Or if he at least whispered it. But instead he practically said "Santana's gay!" For anyone nearby to hear. That's what annoyed me. They both made mistakes hear. Santana was being absolutely horrible (Santana's one of my favorite characters and even I can admit this) and Finn shouldn't have said it in front of so many people.

But everyone know at the school Santana is mean to everyone basically. Im saying what she said was okay but it kind of loses it's effect when roasts everyone. However outing someone kind of more cruel in this situation considering it's public and that her private life so it shouldn't be spread around by anyone but her. And yes Santana did say she slept with finn but the thing is she literally says she does it with most people a bit slut like but it kind of common knowledge. So i think Finn is more wrong in this case

Yep, except for the fact that nobody deserves to be outed publicly. Even when Kurt had the opportunity to out his bully he didn't, even after everything said bully did to him. However, Finn, because he was upset for Santana not apologizing to him and instead roasted him more decided, "hey, I'm very upset right now because of what Santana said, so I'm going to out her in the middle of a crowded hallway inside of a school that has a plethora of homophobia within it's cruel walls. That'll show her!" Yeah, no. That isn't cool. I would agree with Santana being completely in the wrong if Finn said the same thing inside of a room nobody but he and Santana were in or any other private place, because then the chose to come out to anyone who could hear would still belong to Santana. But, no. He said it for anyone to hear and that is what shows him being in the wrong as well. Both of them were in the wrong, not just Santana.

No one ever, EVER, deserves to be outed. I will always side with Santana in this situation because at the end of the day Finn should have been more aware that they were in public. It doesn't matter that he wasn't announcing it to the whole hallway but in a school hallway someone is bound to overhear your conversation. McKinley had always had big homophobia amongst the students and Finn knew this because of everything that happened with Kurt. It doesn't matter how in the moment his outburst was, he should have gotten into more trouble than he did. I love Finn but he got away with too much shit in this show and hardly ever faced reprucusssions. As a fan of Finn I want to say on behalf of other Finn fans that not all of us act as if he never did wrong. There will always be those few but that's with all the characters. You are going to have the few that treat their favs like saints. That being said, I've noticed a lot of comments completely glossing over, excusing or defending all the shitty stuff Santana did. I love Santana and the character development she had but I will easily admit that she was a shitty person, an overtly shitty person, most of the time in season 1,2 and most of season 3. She constantly berated and belittled people, no matter how "harmless" her intentions were, that shit sticks. You can't incessantly insult people and expect them to not take it, even a little bit, personally. She expected the other glee kids to just accept her bitchiness and not complain and get wounded about it because it's her "honesty". She blackmailed Karofsky, and yes it isn't outing him, but she talked about his being gay very casually and nonchalantly at Lima Bean as if they weren't surrounded by people. She threatened to out him just so she could be his beard and win prom queen, and with her being apart of the LGBT+ it stings more to have her threaten to out a fellow member. Again, not all Santana fans are willingly blind to the shit she did, I'm addressing that ones that I have seen in the comments. We need to stop idolizing our faves and erasing that fact that they did horrible things.

Ya’ll are acting like Santana saying stuff like this to Finn was a one time thing. Santana was a bully, she picked on Finn’s insecurities constantly and didn’t expect any backlash. I don’t think Finn should have outed her but he just snapped, he was angry that Santana was constantly trying to tear him down, when you snap like that, you don’t think ‘let me say something mean but not too far’, you’re so mad that you want to say the most hurtful thing possible, when the consequences of what Finn said come to light and he sees that Santana is now struggling, he tries to help. Let’s not pretend that Santana was a saint, she, knowing full well the way you are treated when people find out you’re gay, threatened Karofsky with outing him if he didn’t do exactly what she wanted, she is manipulative in many other situations, such as when she tries to get Brittany back, telling her stuff like it’s not cheating if they are both girls, knowing that Brittany is gullible and openly stating that and then when Artie calls Brittany stupid for believing Santana is a nice person and she’s is upset, Santana acts like Artie is this terrible person and she would never say anything like that. Santana constantly does horrible stuff, she points out the things that everyone is insecure about and acts like that’s okay because she’s sassy. Finn shouldn’t have outed her but it was a spur of the moment thing and she had something coming for the way that she treated people, especially Finn. Edit: I don't mean to imply that Santana wasn't a good character, I do believe that she was a bully but she was also complex and not completely bad, she was a hugely important part of lgbtq+ representation being brought into mainstream media and she means a lot to many different people for multiple reasons, Naya played her character amazingly and I miss her more than words can say

Okay, granted, Finn doing this to Santana wasn't cool, but out of curiosity, how was this different then what she turned around and did to Karofsky? When she talked to him in the Lima Bean about him being gay, she wasn't exactly being quiet about it. She said it out loud for anyone around to hear, and then she blackmailed him, by THREATENING TO OUT HIM. And why? To get Brittany away from her boyfriend. Because Santana had finally decided that she wanted Brittany, and ergo, she should automatically be hers, after manipulating her into believing that fooling around with her wasn't cheating because they were both girls. And how to get Brittany? Because Brittany "was so gullible (direct quote) that she could make her believe that by royal decree, them being together would be the law of the land". She got pissed off at Brittany for still being in love with Artie, isn't that sort of bi-erasure? Or does bi-erasure only matter if we're erasing the bisexual status of two bi identifying women dating each other. And before you all go off on, "well, you mustn't be a member of the LGBTQA+ community if you don't see the difference", I'm an older than most of y'all pansexual woman. Pansexual, which means I don't get a letter there. I'm stuffed in the plus sign. Yes, what Finn did was horrible. Aside from that, Santana was an awful awful person. Do I think she should have been outed? No. But before we get all heartbroken over Finn outing Santana, maybe we should look at the fact that she was just as willing to turn around and do the same thing to someone else just to get what she wanted. And if you say that it doesn't matter because of who Karofsky was, then you're a hypocrite. Because Karofsky, even being an asshole, had just as much to lose/suffer from being outed...which he did, when he actually tried to kill himself.

Diana Of Themyscira because finn's was just a spur of the moment thing. he spoke first, thought later. whereas santana's blackmail was planned...she could have just offered to be karofsky's beard, but no, she decided to use his internal conflict to her advantage and completely mess with his head. what finn did - actually outing her - was worse than what santana did to karofsky. but the intentions behind her threats and blackmail were far more cruel and calculated. and she never apologised to him 🙁

it's so insane to me how watching this can make anyone feel good because whilst she was definitely in the wrong and took her bullying too far, what finn did was absolutely disgusting. outing someone can put them in serious danger and it did; the whole town ended up finding out, her grandma basically cut her off and someone literally used it against her in a political campaign. finn never even apologised properly, and as a heterosexual white man he has absolutely no right to tell a latino lesbian woman how she should deal with discrimination she faces. even aside from how he put her in danger, calling her a coward is just plain wrong. she didn't stay in the closet because she's a coward, no one does, and enforcing that mindset is so harmful because most people stay in the closet for the sake of their own safety, and it's horrible to be made feel guilty for that decision. it's just so preposterous that anyone could possibly feel good about this, no matter how much she annoyed you, because it makes me want to cry seeing how badly she was treated.

There's a quote that says "Treat others like you want them to treat you." and I follow that quote by heart.Santana treated Finn like shit:Constantly calling him fat, underestimating his dance, bringing out the fact that they slept together and in this she insulted Rachel. Now i'm not gonna lie, Finn isn't a saint either, no one is...but Santana was just...impossible.People just justify her actions by saying "She admits she's a bitch" , fine, ok, but saying you're a bitch doesn't justify you're actions, and also that slap she gave him, he could of been telling Rachel about a seagulls laught and still Santana did that to him not knowing what he was talking about. Also, she did the same thing to Karofsky, saying she would BLACKMAIL him, so still, it's the same thing.Let's also bring the fact that many people say that what Santana has said to Finn is not the same thing as being outed, and in a point I agree with you, but both of these actions cause depression and suicide so they're similar. Yes Finn could have insulted her in a much "nicer" way, I agree with that, but she did have great comebacks and he does have an anger management, bringing him to say stupid things. But this is just my opinion.

Getting outed can be extremely dangerous. Her grandmother disowned her for being a lesbian. Finn saw how people treated Kurt for being gay and decided to out Santana anyway. Outing people is never okay. What she said to him wasn’t okay either, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as him basically announcing her orientation to the entire school. His complete disregard for consequences was genuinely disgusting. He basically outed her to the entire city of Lima, maybe even all of Ohio. He’s insanely lucky that the worst she dealt with was getting disowned and a creepy guy trying to “fix” her. This episode was released over 10 years ago (gay marriage was legalized in the U.S. about 7 years ago and might get taken away). Things aren’t good for LGBTQIA+ people now, but they were so much worse back then. Finn deserved to get slapped for doing that to her. He could’ve put her life in danger or she could’ve been kicked out of her house. But apparently none of that matters because she called him fat (yes I know that she made fun of his body way too much, but that doesn’t excuse what he did to her). I see people (mostly straight) try to argue that both things are equally bad. But I don’t think I’ve ever heard of people getting disowned for their body type. What Finn did is clearly so much worse. No one was in the right, but he was way more in the wrong than she was. I hope I explained everything well enough. I have trouble articulating my thoughts properly.

Finn said it quietly and said it in the nicest way possible.. she deserved to have a piece of her own medicine.. her reputation was ruined a little bit.. but not by Finn.. just by a commercial.. she was not bullied, or kidnapped, or whatever you said.. no one cared after that.. so, you are wrong..

The problem is, insulting someone in a hallway, while being unacceptable, isn't as bad as outing someone. She was lucky nothing bad happened, their are kids getting murdered for even looking with interest towards the same gender. Outing someone is so much worse. Yes, both of them are wrong, but Santana did not do the worst of both of them. Outing is somethi very delicate, it's like you're stripping yourself bare in front of people and let them have a glance at your most inner self.

when the darkness is bigger than the light maybe not against Finn, but she surely made other people miserable, manipulating, literally causing people to break up with their couple... at the end of the day, Finn never said “tearing me down” he said “tearing everybody else down”... for me, this is Finn standing up for everybody that has ever been bullied by Santana. I mean come on, she practically told Rory that nobody liked him and that he should just leave, cause he had no place. Not saying she deserved it, just saying that Finn shouldn’t get all the crap he is getting

Been reading these arguments about who did worse...makes me exhausted. First of all, we all know Santana's way of hiding her feelings was by doing this. Yes, it's not the best thing to do. She went out of line to say those things about Finn & that got to him enough to where he outted her, & that got to her enough that she was uncomfortable the rest of the episode & so on. I'm not going to say who did worse, because both in my opinion, outting & bullying are both equally wrong, nonetheless. But they did both of those, they solved their problems, the end. Everyone was getting annoyed with Santana in this episode because she kept dodging on Finn & I'm not only talking about the dodgeballs. Mercedes, Rachel, & Rory had to stick up for Finn. At the same time, I feel that all of this started because finn had a hard time accepting that the club split up, even though Mercedes started it, & Santana did because they were sick of Rachel's constant stardom, somehow got Sugar in there, & don't forget Santana used Rory to get Brit to join, & it just completely convinced her to join when Finn called her an idiot. Finn was sick of Santana being all over his ass like this & thought she deserved this, but none of these people deserved any of these bad things. Kurt getting bullied by David, Santana threatening David out, David getting bullied later on, David attempting suicide, Santana getting forced out, Rory getting pushed around, etc. None of them deserved any of this crap, but hey it's a show, right? But these things can happen in reality. Not talking about singing around whenever you want, but the behaviors, like being forced out, roasting each others' assses, getting pregnant, bullied, or wanting to be on top. That's high school!!

As part of the LGBT community I seriously think that people saying Finn took it too far are either just biased or ignorant, I was called out, a friend of mine was also called out but we NEVER bullied, blackmailed, even destroyed relationships like Santana did, it's called karma for a reason, guess being gay, lesbian, bi, etc. Has become such a big tabu these days that people really think that she gets a free pass to do whatever she wants (for MANY years) both bullying and calling someone out could get someone killed, and I'm sorry if you had a bad experience and that's why you think he wasn't in the right to do such a thing, but every situation is different and she counted with the support of everyone at glee club including Finn

1. I know you aren't in the lgbtq community because you started it with "as someone in the lgbtq community" and said that you're sorry if someone had a bad experience and the tabu thing 2. This is a show 3. Shows have character stereotypes and Santana is just the sassy lesbian in the show that doesn't really do anything in an aggressive manner but in a more rude manner and doesn't really care but is still their friend without completely turning on them 4. Finn did do it a bit overboard with the aggressiveness but it would have been leveled out if he hadn't done so 5.
