dude this channel is underrated, great review. It is a tad long, but it surely is in depth. The icc profile and color settings are a great addition, as long as people understand no two panels are the same and there are variances.

@mai_kul - agreed, and also, a lot of people don't realise that an OLED panel takes c250 hors to run in from new, so it's a waste of time playing about with picture quality settings until this time has passed.

I ordered one yesterday, but I got a message saying there was something wrong with my order. Given the issues with flickering, maybe I dodged a bullet and won't be able to get one. Thanks for reviewing this and going over the negatives, I feel like a lot of other reviewers are being fake positive or freaking out about things that one would hardly notice in ideal playing conditions, like the coating.

I think the holdup is getting a printer that can accurately print that small as well as density on that monitor would mean heat, which would mean the brightness would be turned down and there would be more worry of burn in.

Hey techless. I got mine in germany and installed the Firmware update right when i got it. i have no flickering so far and i use gSync for everything. Even in Warzone, because i Like the smoothness of gsync/vsync and are prepared for a Bit of an unnoticeable delay (for me). I use the blurbuster guide with vsync on nvcp, but ingame off and reflex is Capping my Frames, tho i rarely Hit 240 fps at 4K in warzone. Lower fps titles like alan wake without frame gen feel a bit choppier, but haven‘t done enough testing. A Bit annoying is the switching of the hdr formats from true black (brighter Games Like warzone) to hdr peak 1000 (darker games like diablo 4), where it goes black for a few seconds and sometimes online registering 120hz max, but After a restart, it works normally. Thats my experience so far.

I have both the aw3225qf and aw2725df and it depends on the game u play, I play only FPS games and maybe in valo or cs2 the aw27 is a bit better because 360hz vs 240hz but it’s very minor cuz this is still 240hz+OLED combination, which basically a lot of pros use on the Asus pg27aqdm, you will not get really better than this, if u loose a gunfight on this, even 1000hz will not make u win this. However in BR games like Warzone, the 4k completely demolishes the aw27, on maps where you have a lot of stuff going on and the enemy’s blend into the environment, they are just SO much easier to spot that i will send back the aw27. Just make sure to have enough desk space, I calculated around 8-10cm for 32“ vs 27“ more distance to have same FOV and of course u need a 4090 But native in CoD I get around 230-250fps with competitive settings

The #1 mistake people make buying high refresh monitors/TVs (+144Hz) is using a bad/old cable that is not properly shielded against EMI (Electric Magnetic Interference). The #1 fix for this is to buy a fiber cable that is rated for high refresh rates, this cable is 99% resistant against EMI. These cables have dropped a lot in price for the last years. The #1 EMI seen issues on monitors/TVs are dropping signal for a split second going to black screen or have streaks of compression artifacts visible for a split of second.

Less carbon intake for saving that 5 cent protection on screen. But hey you can always RMA it and get new unit with a chance that will also get scratched. OLEDs don't have flicker, it may be brightness fluctuating when you drop from lets say 150 fps to 60 fps but that would be considered by some people as "flicker" when something this happens you will see 1 frame flicker in 1 dark shadow area place which is extremely hard to catch by naked eye. 4k 360hz is end game for next 3-5 years until 8k 120/240hz start making an appearance. You have to think that 4090 can achieve 4k 100+ fps in majority of the games and in few generations of gpus, 8k will be do able around 8k 100fps, if not with DLSS atleast.

Based on steam hardware surveys less than 4% of people have 4K monitors. So what are you even cloud dreaming about. 8K is diminishing returns compared to 4K and viewing distance / screen size. There may "be" some market for higher resolution monitors but that would be production/photography/film making not for every day "joe" because every day joe won't see any difference with their worsening eye sight vision anyway.
