Markers World Serpent is Atreus' son. Mirmir said that supposedly the serpent was sent back in time do to the fight he had against Thor, which sent him to a time before his birth. Also, you see that the last image in their prophecy is Atreus crying over Kratos' dead body, with a serpent coming out from his mouth.

Atreus' eyes glowed when he called the serpent. This could have been him accessing his godly gifts to learn any language at any time he needs it. We still have yet to see his trickster persona

I'm sure it's even deeper than that. Atreus, as I'm sure I don't need to tell you, is Loki. And Loki is in fact father to the World Serpent. So when he was speaking to Jörmungandr he may have literally been accessing memories from in the the future to speak to him.

@@teddycoons2976 accessing memories from the future? That’s a stretch. Atreus is just good a learning languages, it’s part of his “gifts”, that’s all. At first, we see he has an aptitude for learning different languages with writings and what-not, then later on, it revealed itself as a true power when his eyes glowed at that moment, accessing this ability to it’s full extent for the first time learning the language instantly. How funny that Jormungandr probably learned that language from his own father and vice versa

One of my favourite moments in any game, not because of the fight but because it's the moment where Artreus finds his equilibrium, and the respect of his father, genuinely a well written and superbly written character moment.

During their first encounter, i think Jormy kinda recognizes Atreus as Loki but didnt want to jump to conclusion. I also think he dropped that thought when he found out atreus didnt know how to speak his language. But in this scene where atreus calls Jormy without the horn AND using his language, im guessing that was the moment the serpent knew that that B O I was his father, which is most likely the reason the serpent came charging like a bull and as fast as a ferrari and as instant as a spore jump

Atreus was such a high level genius that he only heard World Serpent speak few times and he figured out how to call for help in World Serpent's Language which was a very ancient language according to Mimir.

I was screaming with a adrenaline rush when Atreus calls the world serpent. Did anyone notice how his eyes turned white or light blue when he calls his kid lol. Also would've love Mimir have some words on Atreus calling it.

This moment right here… my favorite moment from the whole game. Atreus saving the day and saving himself and his dad. Kratos being genuinely confused and curious exactly what he did. And then Kratos complimenting his son. How exactly did Atreus know that language? How did his eyes light up? The serpent recognized his words and was there in a couple seconds. AND HE MOVED SO FREAKING FAST. just perfection.
