I really love the ending. The guy is a murderer and definitely killed people in bad ways. Yet his soul was only set to rest when he had this closure with his son's journal and learning what became of him. Such a strange wholesome and compassionate wish from someone who shouldn't have the capacity for it. A wonderful lesson for Atreus

@@JesusChrist-bq6lu Well the point is that Kratos, being a god-killing, world destroying, nightmare-of-a-kind slaughterer, would like to avoid doing the things that would make his son resent him to the point of killing him. Either than that, it's almost too adorable to see how Kratos cares that his son gets mad at him. He may be the greatest warrior, but his father-child bonding skills sure need some work. Funny to see Kratos feeling awkward at times.

Yea, that was some heavy foreshadowing, they are basically telling you that Atreus will eventually kill Kratos. However, I'm sure there is a lot more to the story that will be surprising.

I imagine this mission resonated with Kratos Immensely; seeing the end result of very similar actions from the father's perspective. Imagine if Kratos actually met the real Zeus in this game: that would be interesting! Also to those saying this is foreshadowing for GOW5: there is literally no evidence of Atreus/Loki wanting to betray Kratos. Yes, there was the whole scene with him shooting Kratos in the chest, but that was more blind fury than betrayal. The only and I mean only scenario I see Atreus killing Kratos is him accidentally shooting him or being tricked by the aesir.

2 years late, I know, but what you said can't really be all there is to it. They are gods and fickle. That's the point. Petty family drama is part of what they are. "There is no evidence that Atreus/Loki would betray Kratos" no evidence other than the Oedipus complex that has been ever since Cronos? Three generations of prophecy preceded Atreus. No evidence other than him being Loki the god of mischief? Did you let all the emotional heart to heart moments fool ya into thinking it's gonna be daisies forever? You didn't see how full of himself Atreus got when he learned he was a god? What's he gonna be like at "puberty"? His first war? His first bed mate? What do you mean there's no evidence of him possibly betraying Kratos? There's no evidence he is gonna be innocent forever. And why does it have to be a situation where Atreus betrays Kratos? Did 1 video game of Kratos trying to be a good dad make you forget that Kratos has killed EVERYONE he has ever come in contact with? There is no evidence that Kratos is incapable of killing Atreus. It could be a thing where Kratos needs to be taken down before he literally destroys all reality.

Little late to the party, but the game is absolutely filled with little bits and motifs that mirror Kratos' life and choices, from the fact that Mimir comments about the heat of Muspelheim and the cold of Hel: "All extremes equalize, given time" to the bit about the Reaver and his son, and the "who would kill their own father, regardless of the reasons" and more. I'm positive it was intentional, and it works brilliantly.

if u read between the lines u see how kratos try to sweet talk his son... cause after they talked to that thief he reminded himself how fathers end in his world, expecially if u talk shit to your son ahahhahah

Atreus might end up growing bigger and stronger than his old man and that would intensify the threat even more.

What confuses me still is Krato's axe. According to Norse mythology, any Nordic God (or honorable Nordic warrior) who throws their weapon, can summon that weapon back. The reason being that the weapon itself deems the user honorable in some capacity. Does this mean despite Krato's past, the Levitain Axe considers him worthy in some way or simply because Faye somehow imbued some magic to only return to him?
@shadowhunter1429
@shadowhunter1429 4 жыл бұрын
Well, it was Faye's axe before him. We don't know if it worked for Faye, and if we have to take what one of the axe's creators said "Let one of us fix her up, use some other sap and she'll break beyond fixable" (Not word for word, but in a nutshell of what Brok said) Then if she did do something to it, it probably would've been broken... perhaps Brok and his brother added that feature with their dwarven magic? If not, then I think it probably does consider Kratos worthy
