Get ready to soak in the beauty of Switzerland's green scenery and serene lakes as we take this iconic route.

*Cost:* We didn't have any extra costs for this trip as we used only one Interrail day.

I get that. It was one of the best journeys I've had so far. We did both, and it was really a treat for the eyes. I'd definitely do the Bernina Express multiple times. I wanne try next it in the winter.

The 2nd class carriage attached to the BLS electric locomotive is not a variable gauge one and, once the GPE arrives in Zweisimmen, it is uncoupled together with the locomotive. In other words, it is a shield carriage between the variable gauge composition, equipped with automatic coupling, and the BLS locomotive which is equipped with classic screw couplings

​@@LetsgowithD If you look at the teleindicator sign visible at minute 1:35 of your magnificent video, you will notice that it does not specify that the 2nd class carriage attached to the locomotive is limited to Zweisimmen. Since seat reservations are possible but not mandatory, it is likely that someone took a seat in said 2nd class carriage and had to get off in a hurry at Zweisimmen to continue the journey towards Gstaad and Montreux. If you happen to be in those parts again, I highly recommend you film the gauge change operations that take place in Zweisimmen in both directions.

​@@LetsgowithD A further clarification: the MOB locomotive used to tow or push the GPE along the narrow gauge section (1000 mm, never say or write metric gauge) does not require a shield carriage as it is equipped with automatic coupling.
